I had weight loss surgery (Lap Band) and sometimes I have difficulty swallowing pills and I'm forced to crush them. This is fine for the other meds I'm on, but I'm not sure about my BCP. I asked one Doc and he kind of dismissed it.

The BCP are strickley for PCOS and not birth control. However, I was wondering how crushing them would affect the absorption into my system. I don't want to get my hormones out of wack.

As a pharmacist, I love to see drug questions! Crushing BCP is fine, it doesn't change the absorption. Ovcon now makes a chewable BCP (also available in generic.) Probably tastes better! Good luck with the Lap Band!
