Yeah, my doctor said that the amount of endometriosis doesn't necessarily correlate with the amount of pain you feel. She said he has had patients that were having a laparoscopy done for an entirely different reason (such as a large ovarian cyst, etc) and once they got in there they saw that there was severe endo, but the patient had no complaints from it. On the other side, she said she has had patients with horrible pain, and only mild endo. I think a lot must have to do with how close it is to nerves, exactly where it is located, etc.

I have endo and its very painful! My pain is during my peroid and about a week before it! I know i am going to start AF when i have a pain that shoots right up through me. My peroids are very irregular and HEAVY! I can flood in a matter of 30 minutes! Sorry if i am being graphic but it might help you out. I have to wear a pad and a super plus tampon and will go through that in 30 minutes! Anyways, i have been put on provera at one point to treat it along with the BC pill.. different times though. and i think that the BC pill is the most effective at helping with the pain and regulating the cycle. The BC pill i took for over 3 years was called Marvelon! It works wonders! Good luck!

I had an adhesion and endometrioma that was removed during surgery recently, so I have mild endometriosis. My pain was unpredictable and I didn't get it every cycle and sometimes only after BD'ing.

I agree with the butcher knife sensation. It's this horrible shooting pain that feels like a dull knife scraping my insides. The last episode of pain that I had was particularly bad. I broke 9 bones in my body a few years back in an accident... The endo pain was worse than that. Painkillers didn't even take the edge off.

Sorry for being so graphic, but if you are in pain and you suspect you have endo, the pain is on a whole new level.

I have Stage IV endo (yes, the highest stage! Ow!) and I feel it everywhere in my pelvic region everyday of the month. It feels like stabbing and pinching. It is all over my bladder too, and it actually permeated the bladder wall so I feel the need to pee all the time even after I urinate. It is really annoying and painful. I had a lap, but, he said the endo is so deep and ingrained that he cannot do anything until a urologist, kidney specialist and some other specialist is there. And it will take 6-8 hours under the knife. So obviously I need a second lap sometime, but I am not doing it anytime soon due to family issues at the moment! It isn't TOO bad lately, but I do feel something everyday still

Weird things have been happening lately. I'm on my second pack of a 3-month consequetive trial of bcp to see if it helps the pain/spotting. For the last few hours, I've been feeling this plevic pressure, like someone has their fist in my uterus. I'm not in pain from it, but it is uncomfortable. I can also feel movement in a way, so I wonder if it is my bladder or colon. Also, tmi, but during intercourse today, I had like zero sensation whatsoever, it was like my whole pevlic/vaginal area was numb.

Just curious if anyone else has experienced this?
