Can you get Preggers while taking Provera?

I was just wondering b/c I asked my doc and never got a straight answer...can you get pregnant while taking provera?

My friend took provera for a year and got prego the month after she stopped taking it.

I can tell you in all honesty i took provera for 1 month and ended up preg with my youngest...I was taking it just to induce my period because it had been awhile since I had one so my doc gave me the script so I could induce it. It took forever for my period to come and I thought the provera hadn't worked...well I never had a next AF, I was preggers...wasn't ttc either. I'm sure it probably doesn't work that way for everyone, but I was sure shocked.

From what I have been reading, provera will not make you ovulate just brings AF. However, sometimes it will stimulate everything and cause you to O. Therefore, increasing your chances of getting pregnant.

I am taking prometrium instead of provera and my dr told me that if my body was trying to O that taking the prometrium could push it over the edge and help it happen. I am hoping that is true and maybe end up preg this month...... Here's to Hoping
