Default Can you grow out of PCOS?

I'm curious. Does anyone know what could happen if you let PCOS go throughout the years. I have had horrible periods ever since I started menstruating. Everyone told me get it checked out, but I never did. I'm now 33 and I'm finally going to the Gynocologist because I realize now that I have all the symptoms of PCOS, including just being diagnosed with Insulin Resistance. I just started Metformin last week and I've always had Hypothroidism. I have been to the Gynocologist twice before, but it was never something that was discussed. They suggested Birth Control for bad periods, but I never opted for that choice because I thought it would reak havic on my already fluctuating moods. So, my question again is, if you have cysts on your ovaries, is there a chance that they will go away on their own, or will they just get worse? I used to get hair on my breasts and around my navel, but I don't have that problem anymore. I'm wondering if I grew out of some symptoms at different points in my life. Does anyone know for sure or have had a similar experience? I would greatly appreciate your reply.

New on here -

DX: Bipolar Disorder II, Insulin Resistance, Hypothyroidism, Arthritis - possibly PCOS and Endometriosis.

The cysts can absolutely go away on their own once you begin ovulating regularly (assuming the cysts are, in fact, from pcos. PCOS cysts are a specific kind).

As for your other symptoms, some women find that they get better as they adopt more healthier lifestyles, which in turn, impact their hormonal profile.
