With the summer, comes holidays and vacations.
So I figured we could share our favorite places to visit during the summer and why we like it so much so that others who may be planning a trip maybe tempted to visit somewhere new.
Don't forget to give links if available & share you secret summer hotspots.
I guess I currently live in a Canadian Travel Destination
From what I saw last summer the population here in Kelowna seems to almost double. Between Ogopogo, the water & mountians, people seem to like Kelowna.
If any of you happen to be in the area, let me know. I am always up to playin tour guide
One of the best things every summer in Vancouver at English bay is the fireworks, Celebration of light. This year the fireworks are on July 25th, 28th and August 1st, 4th they start at 10:00pm. If your in Vancouver or the Grater Vancouver Area on those days I suggest you stop by the beach (It's free)
True Love,
I'll have to check that out this year. It will give Dh & I chance to get to know Vancouver a little more.
Want2beamum,
I think I went to Sauble once when I lived in Ontario...I barely remember it, but wish I did. I spent many summers up at Grand Bend & Wasaga Beach and loved it.
I love Grand Bend. We like to go camping at the Pinery, just outside of there. We go into town often when we're there. We honeymooned in Bayfield and Goderich, and fell in love with the whole "west coast" of Ontario.
I'm in Niagara, and summer here means lots of fresh produce, great theatre (Shaw Festival, Showboat Theatre, Port Mansion), beach time (Lakeside Park ala the Rush song) and lots of fresh produce. Did I mention the produce?
At the end of summer, in late September, is the Grape and Wine festival; a 2 week celebration of the vine, culminating in a huge parade. There is lots to do and see, and so many wineries to tour. You can't do it all.

Ajani,
I have been to the Niagara area numerous times in my life and didn't realize how much it sounds like Kelowna until I read your description & area events. Except for the mountains one would find the two hard to compare.
I have driven by the pinery more times than I can count but never actually spent time there. There was a hotel/resort that I always stayed at when we were there. I can't remeber the name of it but it was pretty nice.
I live in Winnipeg, which may be the most boring tourist destination ever. lol! No, seriously, The Forks is interesting (it's been a meeting place for thousands of years) - buskers, ethnic foods, a river walk, ice skating in winter, a skateboard park in summer. And Shakespeare in the Ruins is cool - Shakespearean works performed in various VERY cool locations in Winnipeg (no theatres). Hm, what else? The snakepits at Narcisse (north of Winnipeg) are neat, and have been featured in National Geographic. The Morden Corn and Apple Festival is always a hoot. And I like the Mennonite museum in Steinbach (southeast of Winnipeg) - it's a replica of an old Mennonite village.

I too like the Pinery! It's soooo hard to get a reservation there though! We also enjoy spending time in both Grand Bend and Port Stanley. When we do go ALL the way to Port Stanley we always stop in to Sparta to do some shopping!! If you love candles it's the place to be! Two weeks ago dd went to CasaLoma and the Toronto Zoo. She is also going to the African Lion Safari this weekend and next weekend to Canada's Wonderland!! Two more great places to visit! There is also Marineland!! This year we're also planning a trip to the Elora Gorge to tube down the gorge. I'm going for the picnic! lol! If I think of anything more I'll be sure to post!

Anyone making a trip to the East Coast must visit the Bay of Fundy (Fundy National Park) in NB, the Cabot Trail in NS, and PEI (It's small, so I thought I'd mention the whole island!)
