If you haven't heard, Nichola Goddard died in Afghanistan today. I feel so sad for her and her family. She was neighbours with my best friend (whose husband is also in the military) and I'm told that she was a wonderful woman.
This really is very sad. I obviously didn't know her, but from what I have seen on the news, she was a wonderful and highly intelligent woman who had a lot to offer. Her family appears to be extremely strong, and holding up exceptionally well under horrific circumstances. They should be very proud of her and what she accomplished in her life.
Although I typically do not support war, I am 100% supportive of the Canadian troops who are fighting in what looks like it will be a long and difficult war. These men and women are giving up so much so that we can live in a safer world - and they deserve our respect and full support.
