Default Cancer

Has anyone had cancer or a cancer scare as a result of PCOS? I'm worried. I'm having a pelvic ultrasound in 2 weeks and I assume that will show any irregularities.

I haven't had AF without BCP in 8 years (since I was 18) and I was off BCP for 2 years and didn't have one and then the constant spotting started. I had AF 3 months ago and it was really bad, lots of clotting and went for 7 days and stopped. Spotting stopped for about 3 weeks and then started up again. Just went off BCP and had AF again and it wasn't too heavy (I'm not sure if it really was AF or if the bleeding just got worse and then better because I didn't get my signature headache the day before) and now all the spotting has stopped again.

I don't get any bad pain, like my lower stomach is uncomfortable if I push on it real hard but I think thats just from pushing on it. My doctor said that if it was anything really severe I would most probably be experiencing some kind of pain.

I'm probably being a big baby because my hormones are all over the place at the moment.

You're not being a baby, cyster. I'm glad you shared your worries with us so we can be there for you!

I'm sorry you're having troubles with AF. Sometimes she just can't behave can she? Are you taking anything else for your PCOS besides BCP? Metformin really helped me to have regular periods, so I don't think I was as concerned about cancer as I would have been, if I wasn't shedding my uterine lining regularly.

I had the pelvic ultrasounds too, and I will admit that I was nervous that they would find something (like ovarian cancer!) very wrong. As it turns out they found polycystic ovaries.

Hang in there cyster, I hope your u/s goes well. I'm here if you need to talk hun.
Hugs
Jenny

I had one several years ago. Dont know the result or even why. Back then they never told me anything.
But as of right now I'm petrified that something is wrong. I've been having pain in lower abdomen for over a month now. Just went to the Dr. and he even suggested a hysterectomy. So now I'm stressing over that.
I hope every thing comes out ok for you. Keep us updated!

Your symptoms sound a lot like mine, am I going for ultrasounds, and mammograms this Wednesday. oo I'm so excited! not, and hopefull we'll get everything figured out. The only bit that scares me is the mammogram, I'm only 28, and found some lumps, and I don't want it to be cancer. Anyway, my point, I'm right in the thick of things too. If you need anyone to talk to, or need a shoulder to cry on, just drop me a line. And no you are not being a big baby, if health issues worry you, it's always better to be safe than sorry. Wishing you all the best, and I hope everything a ok.
Amy

I'm not on anything at the moment. I have my GTT booked in 2 weeks and a repeat of my other tests and my dr wanted me to go off all meds so that they wouldn't effect the results.

Then my appointment with the endo is at the end of November so they will probably put me on Metformin then.

I think I have that type 3 PCOS.
