I am not sure if this is where this post belongs, but I have seen several cysters with Candida Control listed in their signatures. I was wondering if someone could give me more information on what it is and what it is used for.
Thanks

I went to my dr today. She said first thing is to get your b/w checked for sugar levels. If they are normal, then you need to be sure your estrogen levels are in check.
After more research, I found this link as well that may help.
wow - i was looking at the list of foods to eliminate, or reduce... I'm not sure if there would be anything left for me to eat.

Not sure if I'm qualified to speak here - but in the past I've tried an anti-Candida plan...
I think the premise is that an overgrowth of yeast can cause a boat-load of issues - digestive, reproductive (as yeast can affect hormone receptors), skin/hair, allergies, you name it. Certain things really promote yeast overgrowth (antibiotics, BCPs, fermented foods, sugar, alcohol) - so by eliminating these you can relieve some symtpoms. I read the book by Dr. Crook (what an awful name for a doc!) and he mentioned if you "feel sick all over" for no apparent reason (read: your lab work is normal) then Candidiasis could be the reason.
The protocol is usually ridding the diet of just about everything (honest to goodness it IS a lot) - but you're left with basically protein, veggies, good fats early on and slowly reintroducing other foods. This is also what a lot of Immunologists/Allergists call the "Elimination Diet" to determine food allergies. Many folks use some sort of anti-fungal (olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, grapefruit seed extract, coconut oil, garlic) or in severe cases a prescription anti-fungal (Diflucan or Nystatin). Then you replenish with probiotics.
Something worth mentioning is the Herxheimer effect where things start to feel worse before they get better. Also called "die-off" - the yeastie beasties like to put up a good fight before they give in.
