Just watched Casualty tonight and there was a case of PCOS on there!!!
Okay so it was a bi-line - not the main story and they didn't really go into it much, but it was good to see it being mentioned!! They even had the patient in questions sneaking off to the bathroom to shave her stubble!!
She was a skinny cyster and although they mentioned acne and hairloss she was perfectly made up and you couldn't see any problems, but it was at least handled well and highlighted the infertility, plus said there was no cure but various treatments to try and help.
NICE ONE BBC!!!

Its a pity they didn't make a bit more of it, but any publicity is a good thing - the more aware the gen. public become, especially women who don't realise what their sypmtoms mean, hopefully the more aware doctors will be and willing to do something about it (well, I can live in hope!!).

Saw it too....my boyfriend got more exited than me about it being mentioned.....it was a shame we didn't see her later...but sometimes they have the same patients in Holby City (BBC 1, Tuesdays) so I'm gonna watch that to see if she appears.
Well good though, especially the hair side, it's about time people were more informed that some women have a problem that causes the facial hair, and it is hard to control. Well done, BBC, and the way it was handled was great, why can't all doctors be as helpfull as Lara!
I saw it too, but at first i thought they were going to discover she was a man! :o oopps how wrong could i be!
It was good to see it on such a high profile programme but it would have also been good if they went into it with more detail! Cant have it all ways i suppose! lol
