All right, ya got me. I love 'em!!!!!!! I only have one, b/c if we brought another one into the house she'd probably eat it alive. I don't know why, but all my friends have big dogs that really like me. My friend has an Austrian shepherd mutt that really really likes me, but I like her too so it's okay. But my heart belongs to cats.

I think I posted this somewhere else, but: I'm in the Drama Club at school, and one of the girls in the club found a tiny stray kitten on campus. So she took him in and named him H-dawg (our nickname for the teacher who supervises the Drama Club) and brought him to Club one week. We all petted him and he was clinging to anything soft and fuzzy and looking like he was scared out of his little mind. So someone observes, "That cat's gonna have a real identity crisis when it grows up." It's so true!!!! Anyway, I don't think he was traumatized by the visit to the Club (we can be frightening, I'll tell you) and now the girl's boyfriend has him. Cute little story.

I think my kitty was abandoned when she was little, b/c she sucks on blankets and fingers. I can sit on the couch with her for fifteen minutes at a time and she'll just lick me all over. It's really amazing, b/c she's got a short attention span. She also likes to lie on her back with her paws and tail curled up, and snore really loud. Then when she dreams she twitches, so the overall effect is a mass of orange fuzz twitching on the floor. It's the cutest thing!!!!!!! (I love my cat, can ya tell?)

I think it's really cool that your cat can change the channel (even though it's annoying) my 3 cats live outside but they also have their own irritating tricks. A perfect example of this is my little girl Angel she leaps up to the living room window sill and meaows :o . She also is a constant source of amusement, just the other day she got herself stuck in a box of those plastic ties that go around bundles of newspaper and then she was eating and my other cat Milo ran underneath her and she got stuck on top of him and couldn't get off:p

thats an interesting thought! I once had 2 baby kittens to look after for a few days and even though they had to be bottle fed every 2 hours it was so much fun I was so proud because when the Vet Nurse (who is my friend) took them back and I got to weigh them they had the best weight gain since arriving at the clinic

You must have better skills with kittens than me, b/c kittens only like me if I'm wearing something fuzzy that they can cling to. I have better luck with older cats. Go figure...

Talking about cats changing the channel...I had recommended this pet-sitting service to a neighbor family, and they hired a sitter to watch their two cats when they were away. When the family came back the TV was on. They were sure the sitter turned it on, but she swore she didn't. Then they figured it out: the younger daughter had left the remote on the floor, and the smarter cat turned on the TV. According to the little girl the cats really like to watch TV, so...

Does anyone else have a cat that snores???? My kitty will roll on her back, with her paws and tail curled up, and snore her little head off. Is she unique, or do other cats do that??? Do other cats also lie on their backs to sleep????? I have a very interesting cat...

My cat is my baby. He will lay in my arms just like a baby. He cuddles with me at night.

He has a definite personality. He is hilarious. Last night he was in my lap while I was watching TV (oh, he watches TV too) any way this cat commercial came on and his tail fuzzed up, his hair on his back stood up, he jumped down out of my lap and ran toward the TV and arched his back. The only thing that he did not do was hiss, growl or spit at the TV. I laughed until I cried. His name is Bartholamew- Bart for short.:p

We have these family friends: the woman who used to babysit me, her DH and her three daughters. Now she cleans house for us once a week. Before her two youngest were in school she used to bring them along with her. So the youngest one became fascinated with my kitty. She would follow kitty around the house, watch her eat, try to pet her. She'd never been around cats before, so she didn't quite know what to make of this. Finally kitty got tired of all the tail-pulling and belly-thumping, so she gave the little girl a small scratch on the arm. That scared her so bad she's never gone near the cat again. Who says cats can't defend themselves??????

Thumbs up

I think we'd better watch out for you! Cats are such characters! The fame and the glory though can get too much for them, take the Go Cat cat (it's a brand of kitty food here) he was famous but it all got too much and he ran away

Awwww, that's so sad! Over here we still have Morris (the Nine Lives cat) and he's still going strong and proud. I guess the fame and fortune haven't gone to his head.

I just noticed that "over here" for you is New Zealand. I would really love to go there, but the chances of it are not much. I'm really curious about the wildlife and climate and everything there. And how do you like the big, wonderful country of America? (it really bugs me that alot of Americans think we're the best thing to walk the earth since sliced bread. Since when????)

Another cute kitty story: we have to lock kitty in the area of the house away from the bedrooms at night, b/c otherwise she will do her darndest to get us up to feed her @ 5 AM. So, the other night I wanted to watch TV in the family room and, since we had locked one escape route but not the other, I wanted kitty in the room with me until parental units went to bed. So I lured her away from her food dish with a shoelace, and she was almost in the room when she lost interest and wandered back. I was frustrated, but then I got an idea. I put the remainder of her food for the day in my hand and let her smell it. When she reached out for it, I moved my hand away, toward the room. She reached for it again and I moved more. Finally she got the idea and went to to the room by herself. So she sat on the floor and ate the food out of my hand. Awwwww, how sweet.

Hey, you wave a plate of hot cookies under my nose and I'll forget everything...on second thought don't, I shouldn't break my diet...anyway, I doubt even cookies would get my brother away from his basketball. (he plays basketball and baseball in the backyard; he's both teams, the umpire/referee, the announcers, the fans...it's quite amusing to watch.)

But this is supposed to be a thread about cats, so...back to the center of the universe.

My kitty had a rather interesting experience last night...my mom had a couple girlfriends over for dinner, and one of them brought her new puppy. Apparently the puppy is really good with cats, but my kitty outweighs him by a good six pounds and is aggressive to just about any other living thing. So there's this little doggy bed in the kitchen, and the gal is holding her dog, and kitty comes in and begins exploring the bed and carrier and everything. That dog was under the table for the whole meal, which is where the cat usually is, but she slept in another room until everybody left. My mom thinks she was really self-controlled, but I doubt if she was even aware of the dog. Anyway, I'm proud of her for not being aggressive.

Wink cat lover

hubby and I are catlovers. We have 4 and are having a hard time finding a place to live that allows 4 cats without paying an extreme pet deposit. I dont see people that have kids paying deposits.Just cause our cats are our kids shouldnt mean we should be penalized for having them. Any ways yes we love cats.

good ol america, well our school just went on a trip there and it sounds like it was fablous. My bro came to colorado a couple of years back and brought back the sweetest toy from one of those mountain places.
Anyways you can tell spring is in the air my 3 cats have taken to chasing and frisking with each other it's rather annoyning when you want to play with them or if you walk outside all they want is attention. The other night i opened the door to walk outside to do something and my cat climed up my leg and sunk his claws into my pants and wouldn't let go
