Question For Catholic Cysters

OK, dd is 8 months. I have not had ppaf yet. I thought I was pg again but tests prove otherwise. So now dh and I have decided that even though it is ultimately up to God as of when it will happen, we would like to maybe take a few more months off before ttc. This is what we say today, tommorow we could want to ttc right away..lol.. But, fact is af hasnt returned anyhow so my question is:

How do we go about NFP when we have no idea when my period will return. What do we do about sex and when and when not to dtd. Do we have to just abstain???? I have not attempted to read up on this and thought I would ask here first.
(By the way, I am bfing)

Not practicing NFP since, well, I'm not married.. I think the best idea would be to contact the Couple to Couple league. We had the president of CCL on a show I engineer here at the radio station just yesterday and they were talking about how to look for signs of returning fertility. (Basically if you are nursing a lot, your fertility won't return. But if you're pumping or supplementing w/formula, it will return quicker) I think if you are charting or whatever that you should be able to see when (if) you ovulate and if you're not ready for another child, then you abstain for those couple days. But definitely check out the website and ask your specific questions there!

If I (former Catholic) can butt in... Even though you haven't had a cycle yet, if you use NFP following the Taking Charge of Your Fertility method, you should be able at least have some idea as to when your fertility has returned. It will give you some signs and symptoms to look for. It's what we're using, for the most part. I don't agree with the pill, so I won't use it.

Thanks ladies! I really need to start charting. I have all the materials, but have never sat down and figured out how to do it. I am waiting for pg lab results at the moment, but if they are negative, I need to get on the ball. I never pump and still bf'd 4-5 times a day but she is eating solids 3 times a day and does not spend alot of time nursinf when she does. Accept the last time before bed. I might add, whatever our results are we are happy because we know God knows if we are ready again or not!!
