Celtic, you sweet little honeypie...thanks for the 'gift'. I LOVE IT. Hubby works for 4-H and their logo is a 4 leaf clover so the significance of your treat is extra special... plus I love green, blah, blah... ha ha...big kisses to you!

Okay, I have a migraine and am ready to puke ...so this is short...wanted to tell you about 30 Days. Have you all heard about that show? The guy that did the documentary SuperSize Me has a tv show called 30 days...you can pull it up on the internet for more info.. anyway, it's on Wednesday evenings on the FX station...tomorrow night there will be a pro-choice person living and working at a pro-life pregnancy center or something of that sort for a month. It will be an interesting look at how someone who believes in abortion reacts to living in the truth...one can only pray for a converted heart by the participant or other viewers...

Enjoy,
LL

LL ~ I don't have T.V. so I won't be able to see that show, that would be something. DH never really had a problem with abortion until I mentioned that was an option I was given when I had a pg test at the Health Dept. DH and I weren't married at the time and I was pg with #1 - when he heard that he was like, "Well, that's different." (talking about it being ours) I asked him how and he just couldn't find a good answer. I don't know how he feels now as the issue never comes up - I know he would be just devastated if anything happened to our little beans. My daughter is in 4-H, she does several projects, her main one is swine. I am the Visual Arts leader out here as well.

I give my DD her catechism and the next chapter is prayer, how about that for a topic? I don't do enough of it for sure! Does anyone out there have a favorite? I think the Our Father is my fav - it really says it all. I really like LL's ovulation prayer. lol Or the one that goes, "Lord, please give me patience...NOW!" I say that one a lot around here.

Wink some thoughts

I've been slacking a bit on my posts so this should be a good long one

Like Julie, I really don't mean this to be offensive or judgmental & I certainly am not trying to point fingers. I just think us Catholics need to challenge ourselves to make choices based on Truth rather than on our personal feelings. If we believe that the Church's teachings truly come from the Word of God then we should want to follow them. That doesn't mean it isn't heartbreaking or gutwrenching at times to do so, but it is necessary. The fact that God allows us to use technology the way we want only means that He allows us to use our free will, not that He approves of the way we use it. Fertility technology is man-made, not given to us by God. So we must consider these man-made things in the light of Truth. If Truth tells us that what is God-made is harmed by what is man-made, then God-made must always win out no matter how strongly we feel about it emotionally. I hope that made sense... I think it did...

LL- I wish I had cable! I really want to see that 30 days thing! Maybe my sis will let me come over & watch.

tigir- I found a GREAT book on prayer: Prayer For Beginners by Peter Kreeft. It is really awesome & gave me so much insight into prayer(I really struggle). Anyway, I'd recommend it to everyone no matter where you are at on the prayer scale(is there a scale?? I don't know...)

Happy Wednesday to all my Catholic cysters! You are all awesome!

Smile New to the Site

Hello, Catholic Cysters!

My name is Carrie, and I am brand new to the site. I was just diagnosed with PCOS last week, and am finding how much I need the support of Catholic Cysters!

I am a newlywed, married last December, and my husband & I are surrounded by our devout Catholic friends, who are all married with young children. It is very difficult, knowing that because of my PCOS it is going to be difficult to have children. But I realize that with God's grace and strength, we will get through this.

I am also new to forums like this, so if those of you who have been here a while could help orientate me, I'd really appreciate it.

God Bless,
Carrie

Welcome Carrie! Well first off congrats on your marriage! I know first hand the fears of what PCOS can do to you thoughts and dreams of a family. But please know that SO many of us overcome fertility problems and without compromising our faith. Just to prove how many women do get pg and multiple times even, check out the mommy board http://www.soulcysters.net/mommy-board/ take a look around at you will find that it can happen! hmm, other than that, just take a look around. Are you new to message boards on general or just this one? If you need help with abbreviations check this out Updated!!! Abbreviations For Newbies:) which is a must to understand what the heck everyone is saying around here! THere is a topic for everyone really. Some about PCOS, some about off topic subjects. Really, you will find everything under the sun!

Welcome Carrie! It may be a little harder to get pg, but it is possible - all of mine were conceived naturally, no fertility drugs or any intervention of any kind. I am going the natural route with my treatment - good diet and excercise, I am trying to get in cinnamon and green tea when I think to. I hope I am able to have more babies, I have a feeling it may take me awhile again (there is 9yrs between my first two and 1yr between #2 & 3).

Jenny ~ What you said about God's will is so true - I probably didn't say it as well in my last post. It can be very heartbreaking to resign to His will, but I think of Mary and how she said "Yes" to His will, realizing she did it even when she knew what that would entail. Her strength gives me strength in my trials.

Kerr ~ :hugs: I am wishing you the best!

OK, I needed to come here and take a breath.

I just had an, encounter I guess, with another SC and sometimes my passion for being a mother gets the better of me.

I have a hard time resisting the urge to reply to some people that obviously are looking for trouble and get tangled up in it all.

OK, feeling a little better. Wow, this is something I really need to work on.

Julieh - Congrats for not giving into temptation!! You beat the devil! In every organization, there is someone who seems to be there for the sole purpose of driving you crazy, or so it seems

Kerr - I will definitely keep you in my prayers

Julie - I hear ya! There seems to be one SC following me around to many of my threads just to say something to put me down (not really trolling, just being really annoying & rude). It is so hard not to blow up at her... I just respond in the most polite defensive manner I can manage Haven't had any major problems yet. Thank God there are more loving SC's on here than critical ones!!
