Hey, I changed my username everyone! I thought my posts are starting to get a little too personal (~TMI~) I don't need any relatives, friends, etc. stumbling upon them recognizing my name! Hehe Just an FYI!

Hi, Ladies!

Julie, I agree with jennynd. I would stick to the Catholic studies. There are a lot of great ones out there. They are mainly online, such as in places like catholicexchange.com, getfed.com, and lhla.org. A great book that I highly recommend is by Christopher West, and it's called Good News About Sex and Marriage. You can find it online at christopherwest.com, and in other places as well.

God Bless,
Carrie

That is a great book!!! He came to our city and gave a great talk. It is actually one of the major things that helped me & DH out of a really tough spot in our marriage (baggage carried over from dating ). I DOUBLE recommend this book!

I, too, have had the pleasure of hearing Christopher West speak--twice in fact. I went to Charleston, SC 4 years ago to the Theology of the Body Conference, and then he was just here in Jacksonville in July for another Theology of the Body Conference. He is awesome! I love to hear him speak!!

Please pray for me. I'm dealing with a lot of nausea, while trying to get used to the Metformin. What helps me is remembering that chemo patients are suffering a lot more than I am!

Thanks & Have a Blessed Day,
Carrie

Dear Kara,

I'm so sorry to hear that. You definitely have my prayers. Please get to Confession, if you haven't already. Even if it wasn't anything serious, it always helps to bring it to the wonderful Sacrament. I know you'll feel a lot better.

God Bless,
Carrie

Julieh ~ Maybe you could start your own study group if there isn't one in your parish already. I am the only catholic where I live (at least among the people I know and am friends with). It gets hard at times and I have been invited to different things, but I just know that it wouldn't mean anything to me because it isn't my faith, you know?

Swingin' Cyster ~ Prayers for you from here.....

Hey Cysters,

(THANKS JENNY FOR THE MESSAGE...big hugs you sweet honey!!!! Thanks for checking on me.)

Long time no see! Whew it's good to be back. I don't like being sick. I tried to post this several days ago but by the time I hit submit, I had 'timed out' and lost the message and didn't have the energy to write it again.

Thanks for the comments on acupuncture and thanks Carrie for researching it! lol...EWTN...who would have thought that exact question would be on the site! As soon as I posted on here, a Catholic coworker walked in my office so I asked her too. Then we decided to look it up in our boss's Catechism (sp?)...nothing! Someone asked why I was hesitant? It's because my ultra conservative (LOVE HER!) sister tried to tell me it was new age (it's not, it's older than dirt) and you are opening yourself to spirits...blah, blah, blah... WELL...before I posted that question, I had something interesting happen. The night before, I was sitting at home watching TV with Hubby and went inside my head to have a conversation (LOL) "I wish I knew someone who had done acupuncture at the College Station location. I really don't think it's a bad thing." SO, ladies, who is the one person who can read your thoughts? Yeah...God. So, Friday at work, a campus CARPENTER comes in to do a fire inspection. She is in my office for 4.5 seconds and is gone once a year...except this visit, she asked about my brain x-ray on the wall. We laughed about it...I told her it was from a wreck years ago and I am proud of how juicy and smart it looks, so I like to show it off. THEN, she immediately tells me that she's spent 2 years doing ACUPUNCTURE (my jaw drops) at the location in town (jaw drops further) and it helped her recover from lots of stuff...She bled to death from a c section...had an out of body experience...so we talked for the next 1.5 hours about God and faith...etc....I felt like I was getting a 'sign.' I am going in this Friday....payday... lol...I can't wait.

NOW! For the fun stuff...Swingin mentioned many posts back about the Pope VI Institute in Omaha. My charts are on their way to Dr. Hilgers' in Omaha as I type. I had a really rough week hormone wise last week and snapped on Friday. I got back in the drivers seat you could say... The NFP person who was to write my letter (promised 3 times it's 'in the mail Monday already) and forward my stuff on to Hilgers' kept giving me the run around. I contacted him and said if my letter isn't physically already in the mail, please mail my checks back...I can't be pushed aside any longer...I am soo incredibly sick. He's had my stuff for SIX WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He hadn't even OPENED my letter to see my charts/info until 2 days ago. I was livid. He does this on the side and clearly doesn't have the time for it. (Forgive my rant...it's my hormones. ). So, I overnighted everything myself in today's mail. And should be hearing what our next step is within the next week.

That's all I have to share right now... and one of my puppies is meeting with a neuro-vet today. Sounds funny to say that...he can't stand on his own and is in some pain. Don't know why.

Thank you everyone for the prayers I feel much better.

As for exercise, I walk 4 times a week. I have had a lot going on in the last few months so I had to stop excercising for a while. Now I have started again with the walking. Before that I was just doing yoga.

I do not belong to a bible study group. I have not found to many offered for catholics. DH and I like to do bible study together. I mostly like to say the standard popular prayers and pray to my chosen Saints.

I hope everyone has a nice day.

Hi catholic cysters,

My name is stephanie and i am what you would call a cradle catholic (dh too). I have been married 5 years (together a total of 16, we met in jr high) and we have one beautiful son (26 months of ttc). We live in michigan and are surrounded by a big catholic community, infact I have never attended a non catholic wedding untill this year (will be in october). We are hoping to concieve again soon, but I know that is in GOD's hands just like the first one. If have been reading this thread for a little while so I know all about everyone else. I finally made the decision to join. Thanks for having me.

Stephanie
