I was pretty petrified with the whole thing also after what an ex did to me and is still doing to me (long long story)
*prayers please* My cousin had a baby girl (Ava) on the 21st--very rough delivery and Ava was born blue and not breathing...9 minutes of bagging later she finally cried. She is doing OK right now. Cath is out but feeding tube still in and will be in the hospital till next tuesday or wednesday.

Kara, that all sounds VERY providential to me!!! You go, girl!!!!!
Anne, I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. Lent is the perfect time to offer your sufferings up to Jesus. Take this time to pray and reflect on how much Jesus loves you, and how He is suffering right along with you. You and your intentions are in my prayers.
God Bless,
Carrie

I've been bleeding for 24 straight days, and it's only getting heavier. I e-mailed my doctor today, and he said that he wants me to take another pg test. So I'm going to take one first thing in the morning. It would explain my tummy getting bigger, and my feeling of just being bloated! I feel like a whale!!!! Please pray for me, ladies. I'll keep you posted on what happens.
Thanks & God Bless,
Carrie

Points: 2,015.23 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,015.23 | I'm new to soulcysters. I'll try to be brief but it might be hard.
First I was baptized Catholic. My dad's family was traditionally Catholic and my older brother and sister even went to Catholic schools but by the time I was born no one was practicing very much. My parents divorced when I was in junior high and I generally attended a Methodist Church with my sister. In high school a good friend was Catholic very Catholic as in they didn't eat on Sundays until after Mass ate fish on Fridays etc. I went to Mass with her and some youth group functions. My sister died suddenly when I was a junior in high school and I was drawn back to the Catholic church and confirmed my senior year.
I went to a catholic college for a yr went into the army and meant my hubby. He was not Catholic although his dad had been raised Catholic and he was attending a Catholic college parttime. We were married in the chuch but after really lousy precana classes. This was 1986 and really still very much do what you want to do the Pope is far away type of teaching. We had two girls in 1987 and 1989. After our second we were really stupid and my hubby had a vasectomy in 1990.
In 1999 we began homeschooling and I was introduced to many very traditional knowledgable Catholic moms including one who had a tubal reversal then 3 more children. My faith that had all but died was really strengthened/reborn during this time. I finally understood what Catholic meant. My husband joined the Church Easter 2004 and had a reversal in Dec 2004. We have been trying to conceive since then. I'm 40 He's 44 and our two girls are 17 and 19 now.
TTC is what led me here. After not conceiving I started doing Creighton/Fertiliycare classes last fall long distance and just met with the doctor last month. He quickly thought I had insulin resistance and my two hour glucose/insulin test proved it. I just started Met a few weeks ago. I don't know if we'll conceive or not I'm really content right now to leave it to God and I'm not sure how much we'll do to help it along but I'm thinking that the journey was just so I would find a doctor who could help me be healthy. I've felt bad for years cycle wise and was on the pill for a long time to regulate cycles and battled my weight forever gaining and losing and to actually know what might be wrong has been a blessing.
Well that's my story

My Mood: Points: 668.04 Bank: 1,212.60 Total Points: 1,880.63 | Dear Becky,
Welcome home to the Catholic Church! And welcome to our little corner of the internet!! I am also using the Creighton model. I have a wonderful Catholic doctor who was trained by the Pope Paul VI Institute, and he has helped me a lot. One of my friends is one of his patients, and she just finally had a baby after TTC for about 7-8 years! I don't think she had been going to him for all of that time--just the latter part of those years.
You will find wonderful women on this board. I'm glad you found us!
God Bless,
Carrie

My Mood: Points: 1,518.89 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,518.89 | Hi ladies,
Becky - welcome! We're glad to have you!
Sorry, I haven't been around. Work has been CRAZY. I'm really not doing well b/c of it. I haven't had a period in 6 weeks after being regular for 2 years. I have lost 10 pounds though.... I'm hoping it's stress. In the icy weather we had recently, I slid into a guardrail and now need $2500 worth of repair done to my car. (Which will hopefully be completed soon) I hate that car, it's been such a headache. Fortunately, I'll only be liable for $500.
My sister-in-law is not well. Some of you may remember how depressed she was about a year ago. Well, for some reason, she is not in therapy. I can't understand how someone who attempted suicide can be out of therapy w/i a year. So Mom and I are going out to visit them in Iowa at the beginning of April.
I'm giving a talk on Sunday about the four pillars of the faith and have had no time to practice....
Please pray that my company HIRES MORE PEOPLE.
blessings to all,
happy Lent,
Kara

Carrie ~ I hope things go well at your u/s and the Dr. is able to get this figured out. It almost sounds like fibroids to me. My mom had bleeding almost non-stop for a couple of years and that is what was causing hers. There are other things too of course, but that is just what came to my mind. I will make sure to put an extra prayer in for you.
Kara ~ I will put more prayers in for you as well! You need to take a nice long bubble bath I am thinking.
Anne ~ I hope things are well with you!
Yes, I am taking some time off for Lent. I am checking in on Fridays because that is weigh in day on my other thread. So won't be on for another week. *sigh* I really miss everyone inbetween days.

DH and I have been living in Akron for about 2 1/2 years and have been attending various parishes to see which "fit us" (we have 17 parishes within the city of Akron, then all the surburb parishes added to that). So finally after 2 1/2 years we're joining the parish we've attended the most. Everyone is very kind and there is a wide variety of parishoners (age, family size, etc). We meet with the priest on Monday evening to make it OFFICIAL!!! We've prayed so long and hard to make the right decision and this feels so right!

My Mood: Points: 655.08 Bank: 1,432.71 Total Points: 2,087.79 | Hello all,
I hope you are all having a restful Sunday.
I'm attempting to send all my sadness up to the Lord. The end of my cycle arrived today, with no conception. :-( I honestly *have* put it in God's hands and know it will happen when it's time--be that a natural conception or adoption. I'm trying to figure out what it is that I am not doing for my part, nevertheless. I believe that God expects us to take care of ourselves both mentally and physically, since our body is a temple. So, I'm eating less, trying not to eat red meat at all, REALLY trying not to eat sweets, and I exercise.
Mid cycle, my doctor allowed me to go up to 1500 mg of Met, so maybe next month. I really believe once I shed these 30 lbs and get down to my normal 130, I'll be better off in all aspects. We don't have a scale that works, so I really have no idea how much I'm even losing, if I am at all. I read it is harder for women with IR to lose weight. What are you all doing that are trying to lose?
I'm still drinking coffee, and I think I'm just going to have to quit "cold-turkey". Cutting back gradually over time like M. Shannon recommends in her book has not worked for me. It would be less stressful for my system if I did it that way though... Who knows, maybe today I'll only have one cup instead of two.
To top off all this madness, my insurance company will not pay for any of the hormone testing, so I owe the lab close to $600 dollars. I knew they wouldn't because of my last insurance co. not paying for the testing where we used to live, thankfully I was able to apply for assistance from the hospital there and they just wrote off the $1300 bill. Nevertheless, the radiologist is not "associated" with the hospital, so I owe him $500 which has now been sent to a collection agency. My husband is so mad and doesn't want to pay them. His claim is that fertility is supposed to be a normal biological function, so why can't insurance companies pay for the testing that goes into finding what is wrong. It's comparable to testing to find out why an organ isn't functioning--so that normal functioning can be restored. Of course, it's not "life or death" for ME, so who cares that I want to have a normal functioning reproductive system. Who cares if my pituitary, thyroid and hypothalamus are out of whack? Who cares that I have cysts forming on my ovaries in an abnormal way? Insurance companies surely don't. And what is it with the companies that will pay for BCP's which kill babies in utero, yet they won't allow treatment or testing for parents who actually want children, and want a normal functioning body? AGHHH!!!! So here I am owing close to $1100 dollars. That added stressor is not helping. I try to ignore it and offer it up to the Lord knowing it will get paid somehow, but what about my husband not wanting to pay? Do I just go ahead and pay? I would even only pay them $10 since that's all I can afford. Seth wants to appeal the whole thing.
Ok, I'll stop.... Breathe in.... release....
I long for the day I will ovulate on CD 13-15... Do any of you ovulate on these days or are most cycles with PCOS just totally crazy? I ovulated on day 19 this month, if it was an ovulation at all.... My temp rose, but not dramatically.
Well, I'm going to get off the computer now.
I hope you all have a blessed week! Pray for me! Thanks!
