Hello my dear cysters! It has been too long without you!
I realized I hadn't been on here since August and so much has been going on since then. I have struggled with my faith, more on the day to day prayer and living than belief. It is so hard not having a parish nearby. Having access to the sacraments frequently is so beneficial to staying on track!
I have struggled with some depression (I am sure some of that has to do with hormones leveling out after baby) and I have gained back all of the weight it took me two years to lose. EEEKK!!! So, back to the drawing board there. At least I know what needs to be done, now it is just finding the time for myself to do it!
If all of you could please pray for my family, I have a sister and nephew who are really struggling with some issues and there have been some deaths and some other health issues with extended family that is taking it's toll on them right now. Thank you so much!
Kara ~ How are wedding plans going? I loved the dress! - not sure if you read my post from the other thread.
Carrie ~ How are your charts doing? I haven't been on here long enough you may have some new news! I know things weren't going quite as well as you hoped last time. I thought of you recently too because we took my eldest DD to Phantom of the Opera last month! It was AMAZING!!! Wasn't it you who told me it is technically a musical and not an opera? We loved it and will be going again when it comes back around. Maybe by then our youngest ones will be old enough.
Karen ~ It was so nice to get your message!!! I really missed your sunshine, you just lit up this group with your presence.
I hope all of you find the new thread, I have missed you all so much. My PCOS symptoms have been horrible and I am not sure if this cycle is going to happen at all - very discouraging after all of that work. God bless you all and hope to chat with you again!

I found you!!
I too haven't been around much. Wedding plans and all... Steven and I are still disgustingly in love. Both of us wish it were April 26th (the day AFTER our wedding). I'm planning on ordering my dress over Thanksgiving, I'll have my mom take my measurements BEFORE the turkey, lol.
How's everyone else??
Love, Kara
CONGRATULATIONS CARRIE!!!!!! WOO HOO!!! *sigh* Unfortunately your 40lbs have come to visit me. Hoping I can get back on track and that it doesn't take 2yrs to get rid of them again. I was really hoping to be down into a size 12 over summer as I kept my weight really well during my pg, but my DH and I had some issues again just before baby came and I was so 'down' after she came I haven't done much but eat and sit on my rearend. My drive really left so now it is finding it again. Not so easy to do sometimes.
It is almost Advent gals! I can hardly wait, it is one of my favorite times of the year. But before then...TURKEY!!! Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am very thankful for all of you!

I was beginning to wonder what happened to the thread. Glad to have found you all again.
Tam-I can't imagine being so far away from a parish. How far do you have to go? I had PPD with Miles. I feel that was one of the darkest times in my life and it should've been one of the most joy-filled. Time helped a lot but I think prayer and getting my priorities straight were the kickers! I also gained back all the weight I lost (over 50 lbs) and feel miserable-I need to get in gear and lose it again!
Kara- I bet you are so excited. April 26th isn't that far away (though I am sure if feels like an eternity!)
Carrie-yay for losing 40 lbs. Are you going to WW meetings or doing the online program.
AFM-Miles just turned 1 year old last week. The year FLEW! He's such a great kid and is so active. He's generally very well behaved during mass. We've had several ladies compliment us on his behavior. I hope he continues like this! We're getting ready to TTC #2. We've been using NFP and I'm very aware of my cycles now so hopefully we will be able to conceive quickly.
Our diocese formed clusters in our area and our parish is in charge of our cluster and we have to decide which parishes to close. It makes me sad that we have to make such a decision, but with a lack of priests and shrinking sizes of parishes, our bishop felt we had no other choice. So lots of prayers are needed while our diocese makes some big decisions.

Advising Lady, I go to the meetings. You don't lose anywhere near as much if you just do the program online. It's because of the accountability and encouragement that you receive at the meetings.

Advising Lady ~ I can't believe Miles is over a year old! I remember when you were waiting for him to arrive!!! I can hardly believe my Kate will be a year in Feb. I am glad I stay home, I would miss so much! I have two parishes in the same town and it takes me about 2 hrs to get there - roughly 70-80 miles give or take. Might be as much as 90 to the parish up town. It gets rough on the little ones - they have to sit that long in the car and then we sit some more! lol Not only that but we have to leave so early that it gets hard to put everyone together in time, even preparing the night before. My DH is really good about keeping the younger ones so my DD and I can get to confession and actually "attend" mass on occasion.
Nancy ~ were you on our last thread? I wasn't on there much for awhile so I may have missed meeting and getting to know quite a few people!
Well, hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I ate too much, but it was so good! lol I am asking for your prayers again for my DH. As most of you know he was DX with type 1 diabetes almost two years ago. Well, he is 32 and already has nerve damage in his feet and now we are looking at the possiblity of him having some neuropathy in other places. He has had some digestion problems and we are thinking his vagis (sp) nerve may have been damaged. To have this at his age when he was just dx and didn't have years of high blood glucose is discouraging and just downright scary! I am still trying to get his to a specialist and this new info. may shed light on a few other things he has experienced. So, pray for him if you would, his name is Chris.

I've done the Napro thing. (Went all the way to PPVI in Omaha for surgery this summer.) I'm not married, or trying to get pregnant, so I have no experience with that aspect.
Things are going ok for me, I guess. I've had no problems with the metformin. And I've been taking the progesterone shots on a regular basis, to make me bleed out.
But I'm feeling a bit discouraged, in that I'm still not ovulating on my own at all (hence the regular shots). And, no matter how I change my diet and exercise routine, the scale refuses to budge!! I mean, I did a drastic change in diet, fiddling around with carbs and calories and such. I do feel better, so I know something is right, but I haven't dropped a single pound!! (After 4 months.)
I have a wonderful Napro doctor. I've been married for three years and we have been infertile all of that time. Besides Metformin ER, my doctor has me on progesterone vaginal capsules that I take for 10 days starting post-peak day plus three (or day 19, whichever comes first.) I would ask your doctor if you could switch to the capsules as opposed to the shots. My doctor says that I ovulate at least six times a year.
God Bless,
Carrie

Actually, I prefer the shots, lol. (Just the phrase "vaginal capsule" gives me the heebie-jeebies!!) The shots work very well, and I only need 3 of them per cycle. (days 18, 21, 24)
Currently, I'm nervous that I won't be able to tell when I ovulate. I have nothing to go on; I haven't ovulated since I began charting almost a year ago. I don't know what to look for, lol. My Napro teacher keeps reassuring me that it will be a "noticeable" change.....but I still have doubts. (My mucus seems to be totally variable all the time anyway!!!)
trader-have you tried using the website fertilityfriend.com? I have my online chart in my signature and it evaluates your symptoms for you. You just have to enter the data.

Hi there! I didn't know there was a Catholic Cysters thread until now. I'm also Catholic and have been diagnosed for almost five years -- but lived in denial of the diagnosis until quite recently.
Just thought I'd stop in and introduce myself
