We are about to convert an become Catholic and our children 5 and 8 will be baptized during the mass. I have a question - What is customary to do for the godparents? One godparent is catholic the other is not. I am not sure of the tradition. My husband and I will be confirmed at the same time during the Easter vigil. Any guidance will be appreciated. Thanks.

Personally, a nice card and a small gift would be a lovely idea for the Godparents. Basically to let them know you appreciate what they are doing and to thank them.
Congratulations again and welcome to the Catholic faith!

Mine were my brother and his wife. Honestly, we didn't do anything special for them aside from inviting them to the banquet we had afterwards at an Italian restaurant with some yummy cake.

I hope you will encourage the godparents to be very active in your children's lives. I'm the first born and my godparents were my parent's best friends but they've all drifted apart and now I haven't seen them in a long time. They are not part of my life which is sad b/c the duties of godparents are very major. But I don't think it's customary to give them a gift.
Congratulations and welcome home!!
