I wish celebrities would come forward and/or put thier million$ into research for this horrible thing that us cysters have. I have noticed that some celebs are coming forward about things like diabetes, eating disorders, depression, and cancer so maybe there is hope that some women will step forward and let the world know what a huge thing PCOS is.

I agree! Here's hoping that one day we will be on the other side of the condition.
That was an interesting article. But, I have to say it was bad journalism for the writer to assume that infertility is the worst part of PCOS. For me, I would have to say it's the hair and depression. It's also very presumptive to assume all women want babies. Some are happy to be childless.
I would like to hear about a celebrity that battled hair/depression. But, I doubt that would happen. The tabloids would be all over that and quite cruel, I imagine. I doubt the general public would have as much sympathy for a woman with a beard as they do for a woman who has trouble getting preggers.
Very interesting post! Thanks for sharing!!! BTW, any of you watch TLC's Jon and Kate Plus Eight?? Well, Kate Gosslin has PCOS too which is why they went to fertility treatments hence the double set of multiples! I think that's kind of neat... :-)
Great article, thanks for posting. I would bet Jennifer Lopez has it and possibly Jessica Simpson. Not sure why, but maybe it's the acne and her tendency to gain weight when she's not super strict about her diet.
I think that Alicia Keys and Kendra from Playboy mansion have PCOS, I love watching Girls Next Door and Kendra is my fav. Kendra is similar to me with bad skin, muscles like a man and masculine interests and personality.

What makes PCOS any different from breast cancer, leukemia, stroke, heart disease or any other disorder celebs speak out about? Why is it "hush, hush?" It's so not fair! I knew there had to be celebs like us, but why aren't they saying anything? I bet Oprah would speak on it if she had it. I just know she would!
