Default Celexa issues

I have been on Celexa for 2 weeks. I am sleepy all the time, have no sex drive at all, and find it extremely difficult to have an orgasim. I went from Lexapro to Celexa because of the cost. My doc said they were very close but the Celexa was actually better. Did anyone have these side effects and do they go away? I have to work 60plus hours a week and I am a full time student, so the sleepiness has to go away. I usually go off my depression meds in the late spring due to only having seasonal depression so I may end up going off early if these side effects do not go away soon.

Hi there. I had been taking Celexa since sept. I had those same side effects for about a month. I found that taking it about an hour before bed helped me out. The side effects that got me to stop taking it last week was severe aggression and anger. I am in withdrawl mode and just had a huge fight with my husband who told me I am a violent person. Which is not me. So watch for anything like that. I also had bad reactions to Lexapro, basically I wouldn't leave my house and horrible withdrawl coming off of it. I felt like a drug addict. I did have good results on Wellbutrin if that helps you any.

Unfortunately, the sexual side effects are common with all the SSRI's. Adding Wellbutrin can help, although I don't know if it's available in a generic. Sometimes switching to another SSRI can help (theoretically), but that was never the case for me.

Wellbutrin made me feel foggy and Zoloft did horrible things for me. So maybe I will give it a little time then when spring gets here just come off of them. Im usually ok from spring to fall only need antidepressants like 4-5 months out of the year.
