Default by chance have you gone to see a specialist for PCOS yet??

Go to Family Planning they are giving away 3mths of Yasmin. I was offered this promotion but I had just started on Estelle/Diane35 and wanted to see how it went. I no longer take BCP now as TTC but FPC is worth a try

    Yay Welly!
No I haven't seen a specialist here and I'm sure it sounds like a stupid question, but what would the specialist do? Is to proceed towards things like ovarian drilling and stuff?
At the moment I'm happy with my doctor and I am working on losing weight because I am usually more in balance and get my AF when I am under 85kg. Not sure if it does anything for the PCOS, but actually having your AF is a good start I guess =)

If this is nosey then please ignore: I am curious that you've also had a child at the same age I was when I had mine, did you find that your symptoms started showing after you'd had your baby? I was diagnosed a year after I had my son -after my AF went AWOL after about two-three months after I had my son (I put off seeing the doctor for another 9 months! :/ )

FPC will NOT issue BCP's for medical conditions & recommend that you visit a GP for better monitoring/health care, I used to go there but they kicked me out.

Feb - good 2 hear they are improving the pricing of BCP, I was already on $3 for my scripts of Estelle - when Diane was funded & I had a CSC I got scripts for free!

Eur - glad to hear u r on your way over, kinda bad timing since we are in the middle of a cold snap!

    My last fur baby ~Milo 1994 - 2008, miss you heaps ~

Hi there leannewo, you just up the road

Yes I was 18 when he was born, my symptoms started straight after, AF was never on time and all over the place it was not till he was about 3 and after having perfect skin all my life I started to get acne. It took another 5 years (8years old) that hirsutism and alopecia set in and has gotten progressively worse since.

How I found out I had PCOS was because I was trying to find a cure for my skin and on my quest was sent for a pelvic scan as I had suspicions from internet research and was confirmed a diagnosis for PCOS but that was just last year and my son is nearly 12 years old.

I believe I had left it for too long as my symptoms of IR have had all that time to send me into premature (pre) diabetes. I am now on the mad rush to try and manage my condition and maybe reverse some of the damage to other internal organs, basically had to drastically change my diet and exercise regularly which I was not doing for the whole time since my son was born. I had a lifestyle of eating junk food, going for hours without food, drinking and smoking anything that I was given. All of this unhealthy living has caught up with me and im only 30?? I am very aware now to really look after myself because without your health, what do you have?

Hey there funkydiva. Yep. Just up the road from you. Just loving the weather at the moment. So unpredictable. We came down to Wellington for the weekend a fortnight ago and it was shocking weather.
