Unhappy Changing the dose of vitex screwed up my cycle....

So ladies. I'm sure most of you have seen my posts about how vitex works and it's been wonderful for me. Well, my bottle of vitex says to take 1 pill 3 times a day for 3 months, then start taking 1 pill per day. Well, I didn't want to just start taking 1 pill, so I decided on 2 pills per day and see how that went. Well, it went horrible. The day I was supposed to get AF, it was mia. I got bloated and boobs got sore and I swore I was pregnant. I took a test and got a bfn. That was a week ago.

This was upsetting because I was having normal 28 day cycles when I was taking the 3 pills per day. So I decided to go back to my dose of 3 pills a day. Since I've been doing that, it seems to be working better. I feel like I will get AF soon.

So it's weird that the vitex was working until I lowered the dose like the bottle instructed to. I guess it all depends on how severe our problem really is. Anyways, I will be sticking to 3 pills per day.

I hope AF returns for you soon. Anyone know how long you can take vitex safely for and how long of a break you are supposed to allow?

I read you can take it up to 18 months continously. But there have been studies that it is safe even at 9 years of use. So it is very safe for long term use. There was one woman on a review I read about vitex that had taken it 15 years.
