Default Chemical pregnancies

I posted this on another board but was unable to get responses. So I will repost it here. I have had 2 chemical pregnancies one in june and one in july. I was on clomid and had an IUI for both. After the second chemical pregnancy the RE suggested that we do injectible meds because the hormones are controlled better. This is also how we conceived our DD. We decided to go ahead with the injectibles. The RE also wanted us to get RPL blood work done, but I was not ready to take that step yet. So here I am just one day away from my IUI and I am scared to death that I will have another chemical pregnancy.Maybe I made the wrong decision about not getting the testing done.

Anyone else have more than 1 chemical pregnancy? Is it the same as having a miscarraige? Do you think I should have had the blood work done? I am just looking for anyone who has gone through this and can help me out.

I have had one chemical pregnancy as well as one blighted ovum and one loss shortly after detecting a heartbeat. With the last pregnancy, the betas and p4 were never great so even though I had the RPL testing done and a few things did come back +++, I personally believe egg quality is/was my problem.

With my chemical, I was taking HPTs up through 14dpo, when I went for bloodwork. i had a neg HPT that AM. Went to the gym around 10 or so, was done working out at 11 - and went to use the bathroom and had a one-time-on-the-TP-spotting. Thought it was AF but then it stopped. Had cramps the rest of the day but no more bleeding. Went for my beta at 4pm. next day did another HPT for "fun" and had a FAINT + - called for results and they were 4. "Questionable." Another round of bloodwork came back 3. Since I didn't trigger with HCG that cycle it was deemed a chemical pregnancy - I think it was a blad egg that implanted late, to boot. (Late implantations tend to not do well)

*Personally* I wouldn't worry too much about the RPL testing with regard to chemical preg, but that is just my experience. It's really a simple matter to have the testing done, so you may as well. (I came back with two copies of MTHFR, but my homocysteine levels are normal so it's supposed to be "OK." I have been taking baby aspirin and prednisone to help with RPL - don't know if that is what did the trick this cycle or not. We changed a lot of things, mainly which injections I used which I think is most important)

Good luck!

I have had 3 chemical pregnancies and my RPL showed nothing abnormal. I went thru IUI's too and the only one that took was a blighted ovum, Dh's counts were outstanding so it was just me having issues.
I found out that I needed clomid/hcg trigger shots and prometrium 200mgs 2 times a day to get pregnant. That is what worked for us this time.
Good luck and PM me anytime!
