Default Chemical Pregnancy?

POSSIBLE TMI. XX

Hiya
I feel a bit confused with what's happened.
My last period was in August 2007. Unfortunately it hasn't honoured me with an appearance since. But I'm sure it will soon.

I started having what seemed like pregnancy symptoms about two months ago. I didn't take a test because I'm so used to them being negative I just can't imagine ever having a postive one.

But the symptoms were there.

Then one day I went to the loo and found a light brown.dark red stain. I thought to myself oh good my period is here, I tidied myself up and awaited the next bleed.
It never came.
I didn't think anything else of it.

A couple of days later, the symptoms went away.
Fair enough.

Now a couple of weeks ago, the symptoms started up again. I took a test, it was negative, I have another one so I can take that if I need to, but I did some research online and it sounds as though I ovulated, which is fantastic. But. I'm still having the symptoms and there has still been no bleed.

But I came across something whilst I was looking up what it could be, and what the chance was that I may have been pregnant. It's called a Chemical Pregnancy. Apparently it's a form of miscarraige when the fetus dies before it gets to the uterus. I am worried that this is what happened to me when that other bleed came two months ago.
I've never ever had a period like it, and I was surprised at the symptoms just disappearing like that.

Do you think this is what happened?
I keep feeling like I've lost something..like something should be there.

I'm so confused and I dunno how to think or feel.
Help?

Love n Hugs,
Kerri xx

I'm not sure. And with chemical's, all it means is that the baby was lost before it could be seen on ultrasound, that it could only be detected by HCG numbers in the body... you should get to a doctor to get checked out, they can do a blood test to see if there is any HCG in your system currently, or an ultrasound to see how things are in there.
If there was anything and it's gone they might not be able to tell.
It might be too late for an answer for you...
And I know how much you'd like to know, but it may just not be possible.

If you are not pregnant right now, and AF isn't coming, see about getting provera. Waiting longer then 2-3 months to get AF can be dangerous. The uterine lining needs to be shed or the risk of uterine cancer goes up drastically.

(*hugs*) Sorry I couldn't tell you anything definitive, but with this situation there might not be a definitive answer. It might have been, or it could be your body just really wanting to shed that built up lining... Sometimes we have anovulatory bleeds after the lining gets so thick that it has to shed. There really might not be a way to tell for sure... but I do urge you to go to a doctor and talk to them about what's been going on with your body. See if they can tell waht may have happened.

sounds like brekthrough bleeding to me. I used to have that before my periods were regular. The way the doctor explained it to me was that your lining bulids up even if you don't have a period and then some of the blood comes out when it builds up too much causing a short period or a small amount of bleeding like you described.
