Default Chemical Pregnancy at 5 weeks-what to expect?

This may be a bit long-I'm sorry...

Just after Christmas I tested on CD 27 and got a faint positive, then it was followed by 2 BFN's. I had to wait until after the New Year for my RE's office to open. I really felt PG-I still do, I was tired and my chest was/is killing me...I had so many symptoms that I was sure I was Pregnant. Yesterday afternoon I had pink spotting, 1 streak of red blood and a bit of reddish brown-then this morning-NOTHING.

We went in yesterday for my blood work. When I called this morning the secretary told me my numbers (she didn't state which ones) were very very low and that she couldn't tell me anything without having the doctor review them himself. My doctor isn't in this week so it would just be whomever was covering the fertility clinic. She called me back this afternoon to say that she had bad news and i wasn't pregnant. I asked her if I had O'd and she said my doctor would discuss that with me when he got back.

Still no blood but my back has been aching all day. I am so sad and people just keep telling me it doesn't matter because I already have 3 kids.

A bit of history: my second child was a triplet conception. I was told at 5 weeks I had low Progesterone and at 7 weeks 4 days I hemmoraged and lost 2 babies. We didn't know I was still pg with my son until I was 14 weeks along. With that miscarriage there was incredible pain. My back hurt so badly I couldn't walk. The blood was EXTREMELY heavy for a few hours -to the point that there was a puddle on the floor when it first happened. At the hospital that night my Beta dropped to almost 0-everyone was convinced it was a complete miscarriage.

Because of that I am having a really hard time believing that this pregnancy is already over. With no blood and just this dull back ache my heart keeps trying to tell me my baby is still alive. I don't know how to get myself past that.

After calling the clinic back I did finally get someone to tell me it was most likely a chemical pregnancy.

I just want it over now. And I have no idea what to expect. When will I start bleeding? How much? How much longer will my body have PG symptoms??

I'm sorry for this long post...I'm just really sad and not even my husband seems to understand why.

I haven't experienced a chemical pregnancy, but I wanted to give you big hugs and to say I'm so sorry for your loss.

I had a chemical pregnancy several years ago before my ds. I had spotting on a Wednesday, then woke up with a backache and a little spotting on Friday. By Friday night I started bleeding, by Saturday morning it was heavy and I was sure I was miscarrying. For me it was just like a heavy period. I was not quite 6 weeks along.

I am sorry....

I am very sorry this happened to u. It doesn't matter how many children you already have, losing a baby is devastating. My mother had ten children and three (possibly four) miscarriages. Each time she lost a baby the pain was fresh and new. Some people will not understand but mothers do-- only we carry our children inside us--I am sorry and blowing baby dust your way

I have had 3 chemical pregnancies and I can tell you that the bleeding is like a super heavy period ( I really wouldn't have known I was preggy if I had not tested and also kept track of my cycles so closely...being on clomid for 2 of the chemicals). They were like my period was just super late.
After each one I took a break from TTC and let my body heal. I know with those pregnancies I never got past 25-50 on my betas and as soon as I was done bleeding my pregnancy sx's were gone (that I remember).
Take care of yourself and I am here if you ever need someone to talk to.

Thanks you so much for your replies.

Still no bleeding. Pink spoting on and off and this morning early when I went pee I passed a small clot-but that's it.

Lots of cramps and backache still-just no blood.

If it's over I just want it OVER-NOW.

I am going through my first miscarriage right now at around 6 weeks. My back is killing me but no bleeding (right now, but I did having bleeing earlier when my betas were rising). My betas were high but are now dropping. I can't tell you what to expect because I've never been through it before but I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. HUGS!

It's now Sunday-4 days since I was told that it was a probable chem.pg.

The last three days I had pretty consistent cramping and backache but never any blood-just pink spotting.

Today I have very very little spotting...and all cramping is gone.

I am however EXREMELY bloated..I can't do my pants up. And my pg symptoms have returned. I cried 3 times reading the newspaper, and my chest is killing me again.

I am so confused and fustrated.

I am going to call the RE in the morning and ask for an U/S. I'm just afraid they'll say no and I'll still be without answers.

{{{HUGS}}} How frustrating to not be sure one way or the other. I've had 3 chemical pregnancies and, like the pp's said, they ended up being like really heavy periods.

If your instincts tell you you're still pg, you might be. If I were you, I don't know if I could wait to see the doctor ... I'd be stocking up on cheapie HPT's. If your beta was that low and dropping, you'd most likely be getting negatives on those by now. On the other hand, if the little bean is still growing and the beta is rising, you'd be seeing positives. Then again, when I was TTC I was a POAS addict, so that was my answer to everything....

Do keep us updated after you talk to the doctor.
