I have it i was diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2002. I am now using a cpap machine and it's been a big change in my life. I only wish I was tested sooner! It would have made a big difference in dealing with daytime fatigue and the twitching.
I love my cpap machine! I recommend that anyone who is diagnosed and prescribed the machine to give it a chance to work before you decide it's not for you....at least a month or two! I remember feeling as though i was being suffocated with the nasal mask, but that went away after two weeks. The benefit of the machine will prove itself over time.
I find now that I only suffer from daytime fatigue, and rightfully so, when i've only had 3-4 hours of sleep because i've chosen to stay up past my bedtime. Also i've noticed that it only takes me 4-6 minutes to fall asleep versus the 30-60 minutes without the machine. Also, what really freaked me out was my train ride in the morning and in the evening....EVERYONE is sleeping and i am wide awake!!! It has been a tremendous change in my life....i can think clearer now which has really helped me out at work. I find that i can focus better as well...i cannot tell you how much the machine has done for me. My DH is finally getting a better night's sleep because i am not shaking the walls with my snoring or because he's worried i've stopped breathing. It's like my new teddy bear!!! Yes, its unattractive in the bedroom, but my DH realizes the benefit to both of us...and at times it can be pretty kinky!!! LOL
one thing that i do notice is when i do nap without the machine, which is hardly ever, my throat is sooooooo sore...I can only imagine the damage i did to my poor throat over the years...
