Somebody PLEASE tell me that you suffer from the same awful, terrible thing as I do! I have hair spread out on the lower part of my chin and I pluck it out if I can or use Nair (for face), but still have to deal with ingrown hairs....which in turn creates acne and bumps...which in turn creates scars! So even when I do manage to temporarily get rid of the hairs, my chin is still disfigured from the scarring and I am SO self conscious about this!
Does anyone else have this problem? And if so, what do you do? I have tried concealers, but they don't work since my scarring is a deep purple color. I am considering trying the new acne mark fading peel from Neutrogena, but don't want to set myself up for yet another disappointment!

Are you kidding? Sweetie, there are millions of women with this problem, and certainly it is one of the major problems we PCOSers deal with! You are definitely not alone.
Each of us finds a solution that works for us. There's really no one size fits all, since each of us reacts in a different way to different treatments, and it depends in part on the texture of the hair, how much you get, your skin type, etc.
For me, I've found daily shaving that area helps me the best. I used to pluck, got the icky scars and ingrown hairs. I don't get that with shaving. And since my chin growth is not very very heavy, shaving once a day takes care of it for me.
Some people go the laser route and are very happy. Read back through the posts here and you'll get some good ideas to try.
Really, you aren't unusual. This is a problem that even effects non PCOSers, especially as you get into your late 30s and 40s.

Guilty! I shave too! & sometimes I get little acne bumps! For that, I use Mary Kay's acne cream! Works wonders for my face... I have extremely sensitive skin & it's great! I can't use Nair & stuff so, you're fortunate! For the scars, you will have to find the right concealer... it *CAN* be covered up - you've just got to find what works best for you! I am a fan of Mary Kay's products so, I use a yellow concealer from there - works!

Lots of us have the problem of male-type facial hair. With pcos you could more or less say that it's "normal". I was shaving my moustache every day by the time I was 15. Nowadays (at 50) I've got beard growth just like a guy. I shave using a men's-type Norelco electric razor which is the least-irritating way I know of removing hair. And least trouble, too.
I used to pluck but it took so long that I started shaving. I noticed after shaving for a while I no longer got the bumps and acne. I thinj if you have a lot of hair it is so much easier and less irritating to shave. I am currently on a mission to get laser. DD is 18 months and I am so worried that she will be embarassed by her hairy mom when she gets older. I just have to work up the courage to talk to my DH about it. It's a very hard issue to talk about.
I've almost brought it up several times, but I am sooooooo embarassed.
Wish me luck.

My kids know I shave and it's just a fact of life. Don't worry -- your kids will be embarassed about their parents anyway! And your hormones need to be right before you can expect laser to deal effectively with your beard growth.
