We all gave her dollie kisses before she went into the box and told her to take good care of Katie. We also slept with it as well as her blankie for a few nights before we sent it---so she has hugs and kisses coming too!![]()

Would someone mind posting, or emailing, a copy of your dossier checklist? We have the homestudy checklist, but we've not received the dossier checklist yet. I'd like to compare the two so I don't do things at the wrong time. For example, I know I need the state police clearance for both (copy for homestudy, original for dossier) so I want to do that closer to the time we're going to send everything in so that it doesn't expire too soon.
Brandy, I saw your post a little bit ago but held off because I *knew* Traci would save the day with her Excel Excellence![]()

So they are done reviewing May families and they must be heading to the match room. So June families are being reviewed. That's good news!Amy, you are right around the corner!!
As for the other page where they say it's relative to the amount of applications received that's understandable. I still think it's slowed down and really seems to drag by slower than it used to. The way they are spacing referrals is odd to me.

Errr... ok, I'm confused!I'm probably the most disorganized person I know, so maybe that's what's hinderring me here... but how do I tell which of those things goes to the dossier and which were just for homestudy? Our adoption agency is doing our homestudy too, unfortunately the state requires it's own medical form so I guess we'll have to ask the doc if he'd mind filling out the China one a few months post physical so the date on it will be later.
Are all 4 references for China or were some for the homestudy? Our agency wants 5 for the homestudy.. 2 family and 3 non family. Does China specify who they should come from?
If you are bringing an extra person with you when you go, do you need something stating that?
What happens if your financial stuff changes? The way things are working out for us, timewise, our homestudy and dossier will say one thing, but by the time we get a referral Dan will probably have been through another raise and bonus period. I know we have to fill out more paperwork in China stating oour financial stuff, just curious if the numbers have to match up throughout.
Lots of questions I know. We're really just trying hard to figure out how much we can get done now, to make it faster once the money is in.
Thanks Traci!
I think I'll be ok without the excel doc, just didn't want to make the mistake of gettng anything too soon.![]()
Traci is right--finances don't have to match from year to year. I don't remember putting the financials on anything in China but the papers all blur together once you see you babe!
Sorry I'm not a big help in that area!

Conversation had at my house last night, keeping in mind that Sam is behind in his speech development and doesn't talk all that much..
Mommy: Sam, do you want to have a little sister?
Sam nods and smiles
Mommy: Just like Olie has Zowie? (All things are relative to Disney channel, you know?)
Sam laughs and nods
Daddy: A little sister named Isabelle?
Sam gets confused, but continues nodding
Daddy: I'm going to be Isabelle's daddy too, and mommy is going to be Isabelle's mommy too.. Sam's mommy and daddy, AND Isabelle's mommy and daddy
Nodding slows and suddenly...
"NO!!"
Oy.
I had to smile at that conversation, Brandy. Not that I think it's funny but because I could totally picture it.
Emily still tells Jessica "no MY mommy" or "no MY daddy" or "no MY book", etc....It's never ending around here. So right now she is excited about Katie and even pretended to call her on the phone last night. I am expecting a huge resistance when baby comes home, though. I know it's going to happen but she'll get over it. Someday. lol!
Just for kicks, here is her pretend conversation. She held a plastic toy to here ear:
"Hi Katie. Mommy & Daddy come get you in China. You come home. I see you at home, OK? Luv you. Bye."
We'll see how long that lasts!

Tooooo cute .. aaawwww
We have lots of Ava conversations too...like if he grows out of something he says " is this for Ava now ?" etc...
Love it !
LOL, that's too cute!
We've just had cat conversations...kid ones are so much more cuter!Of course 1 of our cats does answer when we ask questions so it's possible that she does understand... She still hasn't warmed up to the crying baby doll though!
