LOL Amy, I didn't see this thread before I responded to #3 so go there for my responses!
Looks fab! I'm also going to change my estimation since it seems like it's going to take a lot longer than I originally estimated So my new estimation is 11/24/06 (when's Thanksgiving again...somewhere around this date I think...) My FIL is sure to have a heartattack if we're not home before Christmas...

Walking to China... I'm thinking right now if I could, I would.. all the way to Yiwu City!
On the "me" thing with Sam.. he's just discovered that the word "me" means him. AS you know he doesn't talk much, so this has become a very powerful word for him. He uses it to assert his independance and to tell us what he wants. So if he wants something, he points at it and says "me!" and if he wants to do something by himself, he pushes us away and yells "ME!" I'm not sure he'd let me put him in a stroller right now, because he'd probably just start yelling "ME!" We'll see how if goes when his bronchitis clears up

We bought a NEW HOUSE !! Brand new 4 bedroom backs onto a ravine/creek area on a quiet court. My parents are going to live in the walk out basement in an in-law type apartment (9foot ceilings in the basement too) If I can find a pic on their website I will post it.
Closing.....October 20,2006 ! I hope we arent in China then LOL
Whoohoo I am so excited, its my dream home by my dream builder yay

YAY! Congrats on the house Amy, it sounds beautiful How come the closing takes so long? When we bought our house our closing was about 2 months after they accepted our offer. Just curious if things work differently there or if we just got really lucky.
Now that we've found Isabelle, we are putting off our plans to move out of state since the best hospital for her is right here. We're probably going to be looking to move to the suburbs instead. Wonder if I'm in for a suprise on how long that takes?

I think we are going to back out of the deal...its very $$ and we didnt think it through properly *sigh* I hate my impulses I swear my DH is going to divorce me...I already did this with one house...
The closing date is far away becuz its a brand-spanking new house
LOL, now that's worse than when Chris came home w/ a brand new car w/o me knowing about it!
I think it took us a few months to close (this was 2 1/2 years ago)and our house was already built. The reason why though is b/c we were having financing problems (totally not our fault). I think we found our house in July and we closed in September. I remember it was Sept. b/c I got laid off on Oct. 1st after my boss found out we closed on our house.
Would your parents be paying you rent, did you include that in your budget? You might still be able to do it if not
Aww Amy, I'm sorry *hugs* I totally understand, my impulses get me in trouble sometimes too (ahem, my truck!). Maybe the charging rent thing would help? Or is there something else you could maybe cut out of the budget?

I'm sorry Amy Wood floors sound good...wanna put them in my downstairs too (about 1500 sq ft downstairs...)?
I totally understand about the parents. We're already assuming we're going to have to take care of my IL's b/c we're the responsible ones (don't even get me started on the 21 yo alcoholic SIL!). My mom has my brother that can take care of her but no one will take care of my IL's except for us so I'm sure in a few years we'll be looking for 2 houses close to each other for us & them or an IL suite type house so I definately understand. I'm sorry you can't buy the house
Brandy I'm sure it's hard since you have her photo & know who she is...I know that would be hard for me too! {{{HUGS}}}
We had our second homestudy visit tonight. She told us to go ahead and get our dossier reviewed by the office so we'll be all set to certify and authenticate once we get the I171H. She said she sincerely doubted we could get the Chicago BCIS office to expedite us, but she will put a picture of Isabelle along with an explanation that she is a special needs child who needs medical care ASAP (examination to make sure the nevus is not cancerous!). She said they MIGHT take pity on us when they see her cute little face, but not to get our hopes up too much on that. I just realized I have to write a new letter of petition.. the one we have right now says healthy infant 0-12 months! Yikes!

Brandy you'll be writing an LOI (aka: Letter Of Intent) which means you'll be requesting to adopt Isabelle (using her Chinese Name in the letter, not the name she will have), not a Letter of Petition so you don't have to worry about that one...
I know there's a SN Yahoo group so I would join that & ask them what it entails.
