Leviticus 11:10 "And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you: They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you."
I pray for your soul that you have never eaten lobster!
Leshia...I'm gonna post a link to your thread from faith and healing here. I'm sure some of the folks posting on this thread will find it interesting reading.
Leviticus is the Old Testament. Rules about food were done away with in the New Testament.
Exactly! I read some of your other responses in the other thread too Kat, and I think you are hitting the nail on the head.
For the OP, I hope and pray that you find your answer to this. I truly believe that, if you earnestly seek God about it, He will guide you. I'll be praying for you.

i would like to say that i am i christian lesbian and it was very hard to deal with as my mother told me i was going to hell but i looked it up on the net and found this group on yahoo called whosoever and it is a very good group it is for christian gblt i joined there and asked a lot of questions and got answers and they also have a website and it has the scriptures that people love to tell us that supossedly are aginst us and really explains them thurally and tells you what they really mean. you can e-mail me anytime any of you at michellekelley84@hotmail.com i hope that i can help in any way
I am not a lesbian or bi-sexual, but I am a Christian. While I don't necessarily agree with the lifestyle, I truely believe that it is something you should not be condemned for doing. If people at church knew some of the stuff I did, they'd probably want to kick me out, too!! I don't believe that an unmarried couple should live together, but 2 of my cousins live with their fiance/es. I don't look down on them as being horrible people because that's not my job. My job is to love God and bless people - the mission statement for our church.
I will be praying that you can find the peace that you need and a church home that will accept you for who you are - a child of God.

I am Christian and I am Bisexual. I was raised in a strict Christian home. My grandparents would never have accepted it. My mother has becaome really good friends with two gay men through her work and they go to church with her. She no longer has the beleifs that they bad evil people and going to hell. She beleives as someone said that it is between God and them. I for one know that God is a forgiving and loving God and no matter how bad I may be (in his or anyone else's eyes), in the end he will still love me as his child and welcome me into his home. My bisexuality is still something I have not spoken to anyone in my family about. Only my friends know. Mainly because it is a recent development for me. You relationship with God is yours and is a very personal thing. NEVER let anyone change that or degrade it.
The OT may have a problem with homosexuality... or it may not, actually.
There's a lot of room for interpretation.
It's okay to interpret the Bible for yourself, you know ;->
And Jesus?
Who says he had a problem with it anyway?
Are you sure?
Are Christians followers of the bible, or followers of Christ?
What to do when the two sources seem to disagree?

Frankly, I think that anyone who is not gay/questioning and struggling with reconciling their religion and spirituality with their identity should refrain on passing judgement on someone who is travelling that path. Many people say, "Don't take this the wrong way" or "I'm not judging you but..." Honestly, those sentiments don't help anyone. They don't help you and they don't help the person you are talking to. If someone is seeking guidance and you cannot be supportive of their journey, I really think you should leave them alone and keep out of it, lest do more harm than good. I do not forget that this thread is posted in the rainbow cysters forum, therefore, I request that the subject matter be treated with respect and that we keep all discourse supportive as it was posted in the correct location for that.

I am a mormon born-again pentycostal bisexual. Wow....that's a mouthful. I was raised mormon but when I turned 16 I decided to try something new. So I began attending a penticostal chhurch and was saved. I am now 23 and decided Im bi in Jan. I've always thought about it but I decided to discuss it with my DH in Jan, and he was very understanding. So I have now been in a relationship with a female since Feb. I care for her deeply. She is actually a penticostal minister.... I have really been struggling with my faith but she has been helping me thru it. But I'm still not dealing with it very well. I'm trying to love God and live for him but not always sure about it all anymore. I know that I'm a child of God and that he loves me.... thats all that matters right now. I know that I have to take it 1 day at a tme. I'm so glad I found this thread cuz its really helped!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!

The arguement as to whether the bible stated homosexuality as a sin is an ongoing argument that will never get solved. i think people came to this thread to find help with dealing with the issues of being gay and christian, not to defend themselves from people who want to argue about the christian faith.

I have to say I find your "imput" inapropriate, and there are some things in the bible you definatly leave out yourself.
I second that notion!

Very true indeed...spiritual people inlighten me, religions people frighten me!

Good for You Amanda!!! You have an amazing story! Very encouraging!
This thread, ladies, was not, I believe, started to pass judgement on others. It was started for ladies to come together and talk about similar struggles and to lend a helping hand and some kind words. I think it took a bit of an ugly turn and became very judgemental. Nobody is going to have exactly the same views as another person... this is a support system we have here... not a place to insult or hurt others and their views.
Lets keeps the peace and spread the hope!
