Default Chromium and IR question

Hi I have a question. I am IR but i don't have diabetes but i was wondering can i still take chromium or any of those herbs for IR. I can't ask a herboligest or a "doctor of herbs" because i live in a small town and don't have one. so i am doing my own research. also i am ttc and i am taking vitex and i am gonna add dong quai maybe saw plametto. are these all safe to add together and how which order should i take them i mean do i take them like an hour apart i'm sure not all at once. and is chromium safe to take while ttc.

TIA,
Melanie

I don't have any info about the chromium but the other herbs can be taken together. Dong Quai should not be used during AF

I'm insulin resistant/borderline diabetic and am currently taking 400 mg of Chromium Picolate daily. Considering you're ttc, I don't know if it's safe to take.

My question, for any who would like to respond is Should I be taking a higher dosage of Chromium Picolate daily?

I started taking the pills in January. I take zinc, B6, chromium picolate, magnesium, evening primrose oil and saw palmetto every day.

I'd read that people sometimes drop some weight taking chromium picolate. I haven't so far. My periods are regular now, but I attribute that to the birth control pills that I'm on. I'm going to research it some more, but I'm planning on upping my dosage of chromium, maybe to 800 mg daily.

If you are trying to conceive then don't take the Saw Palmetto. It may cause harm to a male fetus.

Chromium Picolinate is the most readily absorbable form or Chromium on the market, but there were some concerns about it causing damage to DNA when taken in huge doses, so people started taking the Polynicolinte version which is supposed to be safer, but not as effective.

Hope that answers a few questions.

I didn't mean for there to be a question mark after, "Thanks for your help.". It's early in the morning and I wasn't paying attention, so

Thanks for your help.

(I don't want you to think that I'm being sarcastic, because I'm not, I am really appreciative).

I posted about two books in the resource section at the top of the alternative treatment page. They are for diabetes but the advice is for prevention as well as treatment and I would highly recommend you invest in something like this (one is only $5.99)
There is advice on herbs, homeopathics, massage, accupressure, yoga etc.
