Default Chronic yeast infections

Hello ladies
I hope some of you can help me here. I have been getting yeast infections just before my periods every month. This started about an year ago. I have been to several doctors (useless as per usual - I'm in Japan) and I they give me antibiotics and it goes away or it goes away by it self after the period is finished. Anyone else here have this problem? Any suggestions on what I can do?

Thanks Ladies

Antibiotics can cause yeast infections. If they are giving you antibiotics and it cures whatever you have, then it probably is bacterial not fungal. I've never heard of it improving a yeast infection.

I've had problems with them for years. My worst one I was swollen to the point that I looked like I had a testicle. I was given boric acid in capsules to insert vaginally. I was also given this clear freezing gel and it was instant relief....wonderful!

Daily garlic in pill or natural form helps as it is a natural anti-fungal agent. I have started taking a daily garlic pill.

I had surgery a month ago and was given a bunch of antibiotics and didn't know (it was my first surgery). I've had to take 2 difulcans, monistat, and a steroid creme for the swelling. Dr said if it doesn't clear up, I may have to take difulcan 4 straight weeks. You have to be careful though b/c with difulcan your body can build an immunity to it.

One other thing - if you have IR issues or borderline, try limiting your sugar intake. Yeast feeds on sugar in your system.

I get a mild yeast infection sometimes before my period and it usually clears up on its own after my period. I have recently just got a really bad yeast infection in the middle of the month. But I think its really common for women to have yeast infection right before their periods. Its due to hormonal changes.

Are you on any bcp? I get this too. I think someone told me it could be the bcp, kinda along the lines of what Steph21 said. Hormone changes can cause them. I asked my doc, and all she did was give me meds and tried to switch my bcp. Sorry you're going through this. It sucks. I haven't found anything that helps prevent it. Hope you can!

Can't wait to start WW again and loose the other 15lbs I gained with the last pregnancy and the 30lbs I still needed to lose with the first one.
