I'm newly resgistered to this site. I have been a lurker and keeping up with the posts for a while now. I have been on Metformin for 3 months now. I have recently started taking cinnamon. Has anyone else had any experience with the cinnamon?

Hi Shella...a fellow cyster of mine is taking the cinnamon. I think it is suppose to help with taking away the craving for sugar or carbs! Hope it works well for you! Take care....

I don't take actual supplements but I do heavily use cinnamon in my food. Before being on medication I noticed that within an hour of ingesting it my blood sugar would drop 30-40 points.
That is very interesting! I had not heard of this before. I will have to look into it. I love cinnamon and the smell (I use cinnamon candles everywhere) and to think it can help my blood sugar and cravings for carbs too!? Must find out more.. So do you put it in everything you eat or is there a supplement?

I have been eating at least 1/2tsp daily for awhile and I notice a difference in how I feel after eating. Cinnamon helps balance insulin levels. The great thing about it too is you can get the benefits just by mixing it in yogurt, applesauce (unsweetened), or even mix it in a smoothie! I am still pretty new to it, but I think you can find some good info. on the thread Jenny told you about.

The cinnamon is working great in helping my blood sugar levels along with my advandamet. I started taking it cause of this post and it really does work! I don't know about sugar cravings cause I do not have a sweet tooth, I mostly have a salt tooth... so I have not noticed any change in cravings...
