Default Cinnamon lowering blood sugar too much?

I haven't been formally diagnosed with IR but considering I have PCOS I figured I'd start taking cinnamon to maybe help with other symptoms. I've been taking 1000mg of it for a little over a week now and have been experiencing hypoglycemia symptoms (lightheadedness, dizzy, headache, sweaty, nervous) for a couple of days now. Is it possible that the cinnamon is lowering my blood sugar too much and I should cut down or stop taking it all together? Has this happened to anyone? Thanks!

You know, I was taking Cinnamon & felt nothing, so I upped my dosage from 500 to 1000 mg. I noticed on days that I skipped a meal I would feel awful & get super dizzy. I ended up forgetting it both days last weekend & just never started taking it again. It kind of felt like it wasn't doing anything. ???

ETA: I was never diagnosed IR either but my OB put me on Met years ago & I got my BFP the first month on it (along with clomid).

Cinnamon can lower your blood sugar too much. When I first started taking cinnamon, I followed the instructions on the bottle: 2 capsules twice daily. Too much, I was feeling very dizzy after breakfast.

For me it was a matter of trial and error. I am now taking one 500 gr capsule with lunch and one with dinner, I stopped the breakfast one altogether. I have been fine no dizzyness (unless I skip a meal) no headaches or anything of the sort.

As for the benefits, I can't even begin to tell you: 28 day periods on the dot with no pmt, no acne, less hair fall, less body/face hair, some weight loss, no mood swings... I could go on.

Cinnamon has drastically changed my life.

I've had PCOS for a while, and I am far from IR-I get checked every year. I do get HypoGlycemic effects if I dont eat/or miss a meal. I wouldnt assume you were IR just because your PCOS--just as caution. If you were diagnosed with PCOS, your GYN should have done bloodwork to test your horomone levels and your IR (at least mine does). You could always call and ask. If they havent, it might be worth it to request the test
