I always put cinnamon in my apple sauce for the insulin reason...But putting it in the smoothie sounds awesome!!! DH and I make a smoothie every morning. So we are gonna have to put cinnamon in there...
I just discovered ginger helps nausea about a couple of weeks ago. It defiantly works...

I've been taking cinnamon supplements. They seem to make me feel better.

As far as the ginger, if you go to a natural foods store, they sell dried ginger slices. I take them when I feel nauseas. It usually works great. I just nibble at them.

I don't use any "recipes" when I make smoothies. I just use whatever fruit I have. Usually bananas, strawberries, blueberries, sometimes peaches. I use fruit, ice, milk & yogurt. I just added powder cinnamin to it. It was great. Oh, I also put some honey in it. I don't know what, but I think honey must have some type of good benefits to it. I haven't had a chance to do the research on it yet.

I absolutely love these herbs! Thanks for posting.... I was thinking about nutmeg today. My little guy loves it with yams, that or allspice.
The peppermint is great, but if you have GERD (heartburn) becareful of large amounts of peppermint. It relaxes the sphincter between the stomach and esophagus. But if you do have GERD ginger (and turmeric) work wonders for it....
I add cinnamon into my smoothies too. Summer time I mainly make a blueberry smoothie with wheat germ, cinnamon, and stevia. For cold days though I use the cinnamon in carob drinks. Carob is loaded with calcium and other good stuff..... anyway thanks for posting.

I saw that one of you puts milk in your smoothies! I do too! It's a lot better for us than juice, which has a lot of sugar. I buy the frozen bags of fruit too(blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries ) to keep the cost of fruit down.
I also have found cinnamon tablets that I take twice a day. I love it because when I burb it smells nice becasue the cinnamon is always in my stomach! ha!
I just starte the cinnamom so I haven't noticed anything yet, but thanks for the article I'll be sure to read it.
