Hi everyone! I'm currently taking Met but I would really like to switch to Cinnamon. Any suggestions on going about this?

I just bought cinnamon last night, because I remembered reading somewhere that it helps curb carb cravings (wow, that's a tongue twister!) and can lower BS.

My BS is fine, but I do have IR, which has been controlled with Met, even when I am not on a full dosage - which is often the case, because of the stomach woes it can cause.

My type of cinnamon says two 1000 mg caps a day, so that's how I'm doing it. If it helps curb those cravings, that would be lovely... I'm battling really high testosterone (129!) and trying to lose some weight. I'm TTC (since Feb. 07) and I know losing weight can help. So if the cinnamon makes that easier, great! But for now I'm also sticking with Met. The one and only time my testosterone level was normal (42) I was on 2000 mg of XR a day (but also on Yasmin), so I think the Met might have helped (because a few months later I was still on Yasmin, but not on the full dosage of met and it was back in the high 70s).

Joanna, I am so sorry to hear about your co-workers nephew. Their family will be in my thoughts. It is good to see you around though!

NBusc, my recommendation is to read the post by Kat stickied at the top of this forum and definitely do a search of cinnamon in this forum. After careful research I decided on the Cinnamon for myself. Good luck!

Elentari, a lot of us have had success with it curbing our appetites and our sweet cravings. Good luck!

Good going, Mya!!! If you asked me 10 years ago if I'd ever be happy to see AF, I'd laugh in your face. Now, I look forward to her return!!!

I haven't seen MommyJenny around, I hope she is doing well!

Yeah it's gorgeous where I live today too, another beautiful Spring Day- as long as I stop sneezing. ROFL!

No AF yet, but I just got myself regulated back on the Cinnamon, so hopefully I'll get AF next month and get myself regulated again!

Hi ladies! I have been taking Cinnamon(2000mg) for about 2 weeks now. I havent noticed much difference, but like PP said, it can take a while to notice. I have noticed with Met and cinnamon that im fuller faster, however. Hooray!

Does anyone have any clue how much Cinnamon we can safely take? Bigbaby, I know you are upping your dosage to 3,000 and I find that with time, my 2,000 mg dosage wears off for me. I'm wondering how high we can go safely.

Anyone know?

im not too sure. I know i read somewhere that you cant overdose on it or anything like that. Cinnamon is water soluble so if your body gets too much than you will just pass the excess out through your urine. I have been taking the 3000 mg for a few days now and it has not hurt me. I dont know if I got that info on this board from a cyster or on PCOSupport.org board. I think that you would be fine just keep a watch on your bs.

Hi everyone!

I have some questions for you ladies about cinnamon ...
#1 - How does it help a woman w/ PCOS get AF?
#2 - Has anyone gotten a BFP from using it? If so, about how long and how much were you using?

I'm looking to do as much 'all natural' treatments/ideas possible!

Have a great day!

Hi all! I was officially diagnosed on April 13th. I have to report that I have been taking Cinnamon, Vitex, Vitamin D, and for the past 2 months. I also just started on Spironolactone 2 weeks ago and started AF today! I don't know what it is that triggered it! It was kinda funny cause I was scheduled for my ultrasound on my ovaries and was spotting, but he went ahead and did it anyways. I got to see all the cysts...ewww!
