Cinnamons Side Effects I just wanted to let everyone know my experience taking cinnamon. After reading about it on here, I started taking 500mg twice a day (once at breakfast and once at dinner). Immediately I noticed I got very gassy (which is almost never a problem for me); the gas continued for as long as I took Cinnamon (6 days) and stopped as soon as I stopped taking it. But an even bigger issue for me is that it caused a massive breakout. I have acne, but this is literally THE WORST BREAKOUT I HAVE EVER HAD. It caused three HUGE cysts on my cheek (I have had probably 4 big cysts in my lifetime; never more than 1 at the same time, and never this big and painful either!), in addition to several smaller pimples elsewhere on my face (much more than I usually get at once). It took me about 6 days to realize that the cinnamon might be responsible for my breakouts, so I stopped it 3 days ago to see what happened -- and my skin has since cleared up tremendously. I did not notice any positive benefits from the cinnamon, but that may be because I only took it for 6 days.
I'm sure it works great for some people, but I wanted to let others know about my experience, too. |
