Class went well. There were 4 other couples of various ages there. We start 9 weeks of 3 hour classes next Tuesday. I think it will be a great experience for us. We have a lot of decisions to make though. What age/sex kids do we want? How many at a time do we want? Is our main objective to foster, adopt, or both? During the course of the next 9 weeks they will do home visits. They will also use class assignments and homework to learn more about us. At the end of the 9 weeks we will be ready to get our license. That means we will be done with everything and ready to accept our first children around the middle of April.

Sounds like they may have their act together. I know our local DCFS office didn't. But anyway. Glad to hear everything went well. Remember I am here if you have any questions come up and want an ear.

Stacy - I think they've really got their stuff together as well. The county and city DSS offices have joined forces and are training together and you can foster/adopt kids from either district. This is a new program that they started at the end of last year. Thanks for offering an ear if I have questions. I'll be sure to remember you.

Good luck with your classes. The next 9 weeks will fly by. I remember our classes so well. The whole time I thought about having a placement. It didn't seem like it could happen fast enough. Now I can't believe it has been 2 years. We just got recertified this week. Again, best of luck.
