DH and I are in the Clearwater area and there is just a handful of REs in this area between Tampa, Clearwater and St. Pete. My GYN and GP are idiots and I don't know how much longer I can stay at this practice. They are very nice, but complete morons when it comes to diagnosing or explaining a diagnosis. In the week I have been on this website, I have learned more about my condition thatn in the 6 months I have been BEGGING my DRs for answers.

Is there anyone in this area that can recommend an RE or at least a GYN who is Met-friendly?? My GP thinks it's been over used as a "miracle" drug for PCOS and really doesn't like to prescribe it. He thinks i should just jump into clomid, after I lose another 50lbs that is....which as we all know isn't an easy little task for Cysters.

So yeah, and help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

I see Dr. Tarantino, an RE. It's a decent office and I don't have any complaints (Im VERY VERY critical as I work in healthcare). After doing several tests, he prescribed Met. I'd recommend giving them a try. As you said, you don't have many options as far as REs go.
