I was wondering if anyone has tried Clinique's line of acne products. I was going to buy some last weekend but they were sold out which sounded a little promising; it must work if they can't keep it in stock.
I have really sensitive skin but I've heard that Clinique is really good. I just don't want to spend at least $60 on something that doesn't work.

Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments
Clinique products are all typically very drying. Which in some ways is good when you have acne (as it's better for the live pimples), but if you have sensitive skin you'll probably get really irritated.
Clinique uses this certain ingredient that is known for really drying your skin. So if you're using, say one single product, then it's not as big of a deal. But when you're using treatments with more than one product the end result is going to be extremely dry skin, scaley looking pimples, and irritated skin.
I have the Clinique acne products and they haven't really seemed to help much. I notice the active ingredient is salyicilic (sp???) acid which is the same active ingredient in most over the counter drugstore brands so I don't think that the Clinque ones are any different- just more $$$$

Mini Goal- 140- REACHED 7/28/08!!! New Mini Goal- 130! - REACHED 10/10/08!!! 27 years old- no meds- trying to get healthy through diet and exercise
That's what I've been using. I got a free trial in the mail, so I didn't turn them down! But they haven't done any better than, say, Clean and Clear's acne kit, which is a lot cheaper. Clinique's doesn't smell that good, either.
Well I tried their acne products and the foundation for "acne prone skin" and they did not help at all. Definitely very drying too I had put a ton of moisturizer on which only made things worse. So I agree with others, its not worth the extra money as its just the same as drugstore stuff.
I did not really go to Clinique for my acne(because it was never THAT bad) but rather i wanted to try something that i thought had to be better for my skin because it was from a department store and more pricey compared to my cetaphil. What a joke!! I used both the regular and acne products and i broke out like crazy. I went back several times to find out what was going on and if i could use any other products and all the girls told me is that it worked on everyone else so they didnt understand why it would break me out. Well okay thats great- but its not working- I'm not a liar, look at my face!! (is what i wanted to scream at them). At the end of the whole ordeal I ended up with the worst acne of my life and scars that have still not faded (nearly 2 years later) needless to say i would NEVER EVER recommend their products, but MANY people love clinique and have great skin so you have to decide, but just beware. And just fyi about all face products (dr's, and clinique counter girls) if something isnt working for you dont listen to the people who keep telling you to use it because it takes time (even though your face is a mess) because it will only increase the damage and scars to your skin!!!!!!!! (sorry about my rant- i really despise clinique)!!!!
I haven't tried their acne products but I have tried their pore minimizer in a purple tube and it's great for soaking up oil throughout the day. But just remember if you try it that you only need a little.

clinique make-up and face care--all of it SUCKS..too much $$ and the results are not what you would expect from a "department store" brand, for me st.ives medicated apricot scrub and good ol' clearasil oil free wash have done it for me.

ive wasted a lot of money on clinique skincare, i bought the whole range- 3 step skincare and a few other bits and pieces, and it has ruined my skin, its so dry and sore and ive been comming out in spots and blemishes since i started using it (3 mths) ive been using pears soap and a hydra quenching moisturiser trying to rebalalance my skin and its still so dry and sore but its still oily on the outside but inside i can feel my skin so tight and horrible if u know what i mean. I dont rate their products at all but wonder why they stay in business lol?

I like the Clarifying Powder, but it doesn't work miracles. My skin has greatly improved thanks to BCPs, but it helps to cover my huge pores and keeps my skin a little less oily.
I have never used any of Cliniques skin products (just makeup. . .no washes, toners, etc) because an estetician warned me once that my skin is too sensitive and their products are too harsh.
IMO, if you have the $ to spend on skin care products, Dermalogica is gentle and fairly effective (doesn't make your skin perfect but makes it better). I have yet to try a Dermalogica product I don't like!
