clinique anyone???

I was just wondering how you all like their skin products? I am curious to try them. I have sensitive oily skin and I see they would make them for me and it also has to be fragrance free and that they are..so thats good. So for those that use it or have..why do you like? for those who dont care for it...why?

I like them, use them for what little makeup I wear, partially because of my acne, partially because I am allergic to a lot of fragences.

well i am glad you like them..i am thinking about getting the face wash etc 3-step thing but i want more input first. Cause its a lot to spend and then to find out it isnt a good product...anyone else use clinique?

I have recently (six weeks ago) started on the Clinique. I am actually very happy with it. I have sensitive, oily skin with funky dry patches. The clinique seems to balance my skin out well. I also have some hairs on my chin and it seems to help these come up quicker (I tweeze them, and would get funny black marks, as if I had a blackhead, but it was the hair trying to pop back up). If I am close to my cycle, I will still get acne in my jaw linre, though. Overall I am happier with this than anything else I have tried.

I have oily sensitive skin too and I also get some dry flaky stuff too! Can I ask on average about how much you pay for your clinique? and how long will it last? Is it a good deal?

I like Clinique products, but I will have to save my pennies before I buy any more. I have tried their City Block Sunblock. It comes in a tube and it has a little bit of color in it, so it covers the red from my rosacea just right while protecting me from the sun. I love it, but only use it when I am going out to special occasions, since it is so expensive. I use Coppertone "Faces" sunscreen for every day.

Clinique recently put a little foil packet free sample of their "Repairwear Intensive Night Cream" in an ad in my last issue of Vogue magazine and I put it on my old, aging wrinkling face and it felt wonderful! It's very expensive, though, so , again, I am saving my pennies.

Their lipstick colors are beautiful, too. If I could afford it, I would love to explore their whole line!

Sarah,

I bought the package deal, which I think is a bit cheaper than buying them seperate, though I am not actually sure about that. It was about fifty dollars for the three. I thought is was a bit pricey, but after six weeks, I think it was worth every penny. And I am no where near finished with what I originally bought.

The bar of soap is going the fastest, but it is also the cheapest. I have the #3 clarifying lotion, I am about 1/4 of the way through the bottle and I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! I use the clarifying lotion on my neck and on my upper chest, in addition to my face. It has cleared up 90% of my neck and about the same for my chest, in addition to my face, which my DH says glows and looks brighter and healthier than he has ever seen it (can't get a better compliment than that

)

I have the mosturizing gel. Which I really like. I am not big on face lotion as it always makes me feel like I dipped my face in Crisco, ugh!!! But I really like the gel. I am not even 1/4 of the way through that bottle, so all in all I would say it should last atleast 3 months (I think I will get altleast four), depeding on how much you like to slather on, and I slather the clarifying lotion on!

They did try to sell me more stuff, but I told them I have severe face allergies(I do have allergies, but I played them up as I hate being sold too) and I was trying this and until I knew how my face reacted to it, I was not going to buy anything else.

All in All, I am quite happy.

I misunderstood your post. For skincare, I use a witch hazel based cleanser from whole foods, benzel peroxide for acne, and then trader joe's lotion (all cheap.) For makeup, I wear Clinique's tinted sunscreen, coverup for people with acne, tinted lip gloss with sunscreen, and then powder eye shadow and blush if I'm dressing up. Their makeup lasts me forever -- I buy about two tubes of sunscreen and one tube of coverup a year, so the expense doesn't get too bad.

i use the 3 step program and it works brilliantly for me. I have combination skin which can get a little unruly at times. I use the facial soap, number 0 clarifying lotion and mositure surge. Just a note of warning, if you have sensitive skin the higher toners may be too harsh for your skin. I say try it, it is worth the money

Its definetly a better deal to buy it all at once in a kit. Its really great for sensitive skin. I used to use it when I had more trouble with my skin. I just use noxzema triple clean now. Its worked great on my skin. I also use apricot scrub every few days or when i get some dry patches. I use a night repair cream by CVS and a SPF Oil of olay lotion in the daytime. All work well for me. But so did clinique! I do love their makeup line too though. Love to try it before I buy it! I suggest waiting for when your department store has the little extras. When you sped oh say $25 you get some extra products. Usually a little perfume, lipstick, lotion, an eyeshadow and something else. We call it Clinique Bonus Week at Dillards.

Hey, I have to say I am really happy with the Clinique 2-step products. I use the no. 3 soap, no. 2 toner and the moisturizing gel for skin types 3 and 4. I always find that moisturizer makes my skin far too sticky and greasy but because I get quite oily patches around my t-zone area, this is excellent! It really hydrates the dry areas and keeps the oily ones matte. I also find my breakouts of yucky spots are far more infrequent than before - hooray!! This is by no means cheap but it lasts well and I would definitely recommend saving up for it! Good luck.

Hey. . .used to have really bad acne, but cleared it up with nature's cure ( www.naturescure.com ) and yasmin (ortho made it really bad). For my skincare, I use philosophy's purity made simple cleanser, clinique clarifying lotion #3, aloe vera gel, and coppertone oil-free SPF 30. And I have to say that I've only had about 5 pimples in the last year (as compared to probably hundreds the year before!). Hope this helps!

I used to use Clinique for like 2 years and it didn't do anything for my funky oily/dry skin or my acne. I switched to all Oil of Olay (oil free) products and I am very happy with how balanced they leave my skin it is always soft and smooth, except of course for those cysts on my jaw line and neck...other than that though I will never use anything else for my cleanser or moisturizer.

I use Chanel Oil Free foundation and powder and am also very happy with it's coverage and it doesn't seem to aggravate my skin, which is also very sensitive.
I have found that simply using oil free for me helps...i used to do the whole fragrance free as well but stopped that a few months ago and things seem to be fine. I used Oil of Olay night firming cream (oil free but has fragrance and color) and it is wonderful.

I love Clinique products and have a clever idea for you! I buy my Clinique products from eBay and it is far cheaper than in the stores. I check out my local department stores to look at the make-up colours so I know what I'm bidding on and sometimes try out their face creams etc too.

On eBay there are lots of online shops selling Clinique products cheaply, as they buy them in bulk and can pass on the savings. I tend to buy the 'sample' or 'travel' sized products so that I can try a small amount of the product to see if it is suitable - nothing worse than spending a lot on a huge pot of moisturiser which does nothing for your skin! Many of the travel or sample sizes are marked 'not for resale' but this is usually clearly stated on the auction pages and does not mean the goods have not been paid for just that the supplier has bought them in bulk. They tend to be the sort of items that you usually get in a free gift pack when there is an offer, like if you buy two products or more in department stores.

I much prefer having the smaller sizes as they are perfect for my gym bag and for my frequent travelling - plus I think it is a bit more hygenic as the product will not be open for months at a time before it runs out.

Anyway, I think it is a great way of trying out different products cheaply and many sellers will offer you postage discounts on multiple purchases! I have a shelf full of different 'mini' Clinique products in my bathroom which I am couldn't otherwise afford

Hi there -
I have used the 3-step Clinique skin care system for a couple of years now and I am very satisfied with it. I love the soap and the "dramatically different" moisturizer, and the toners are not harsh on your skin (depending on which # you get/your skin type).
I would recommend getting a skin profile to find out which products you would need, then if money is really tight and you don't want to spend so much on the products in the department store -- try eBay.....there are a ton of clinique products for a fraction of the retail cost.
