Default Clomid 2-6?

Just wondering what everyone' s input on using Clomid on cycle days 2-6. My Dr. suggested this & we are just waiting on lab levels to come back. This seems to be the normal dosing in UK. Anyone ever used it like this?

Jen,

I am having my first IUI this month. I used to take clomid CD 3-7. but for the IUI my Doctor wants me to take in CD 2-6. I dont know the reasoning behind it. If some one out there know's I would be curious to know.

I believe it is to try to have an earlier, healthier O. It use to be the norm CD 5-9 - then it went to CD 3-7. Maybe CD 2-6 is the norm.

I start my first cycle of Clomid this Friday, on May 16 and my doctor has directed me to take 1/2 a tablet on days 3 - 7.

BTW -- I haven't picked it up from the pharmacy yet so I don't know how many mg's my pills are....but what is the standard beginning dose? Any idea?

50mg is usually the starting dose for Clomid.

cd 2- 6 didn't work for me at all. I o'd on cd 11, too early for my eggs cause I got pregnant and had a blighted ovum. I took clomid on cd 5-9 and i o'd on cd 16 both times, i'm now 9 wks pregnant with a healthy egg this time.

I'm just telling you what happened with me, but every woman is different, I know of people who have had success with taking clomid on cd 2-6.
