Default Clomid

I have been taking Met & it doesn't seem to be having an effect on me. I was wondering if anyone thought Clomid would work along with the Met if the Met doesn't start doing something for me.

I also wondered if anyone knew if there was an increase chance of having multiples with Clomid. I have a 4 yr. old and a 5 yr. old & am nervous about the risk of fertility treatments!

Thanks!

Hi there!

How long have you been taking the Metformin? Depending on the length, I'd give it a couple of more months to fully get in your system if you haven't been on it that long. It never worked for me & neither did the Metformin/Clomid combintation, either. There is an increased risk of multiples (twins, triplets, etc) with Infertility medications. A friend of mine conceived triplets (all girls; gave birth last December) from Metformin & Clomid alone, lol. Another friend is 14 weeks pregnant with twins without the help of meds so it just depends really. No need to be too afraid hehe

I highly suggest speaking to your Dr. about other medications or fertility treatments depending on the route you're ready/willing/wanting to go Different things work for different people! Sometimes Metformin works great for people, other times it does nothing. The same goes for Clomid, Femara, and many others.

Good luck! I hope you find something that works for YOU! Just remember, none of us are alike so don't let your Dr. make you feel that way, either!

your chances of twins on clomid is apparently 7-10%, where as the general population for twins is around 2%....

see my siggy, clomid twins 150mg gave me my 2 cuties!!

I know women who dont get pregnant on clomid and then I know a lady that had triplets from 25mg of clomid ..everyone is different and responds differently..

All the best!

Met alone didn't work for me and it took 4 rounds of clomid+Met to get pg...and I was upped to 2000mg of Met a few months beforehand.

Yes, there is a greater risk of multiples with clomid or other fertility treatments, but it's not THAT great compared to the regular population. And my doctor said he's only had one patient have triplets from taking clomid in all his years...
