Clomid

I am currently on CD 11 after taking 50 mg clomid from days 5-9. I started taking ovulation predictor tests yesterday and today and both were negative. My doctor said that typically ovulation happens between days 12 and 18.

For those of you who have ovulated on clomid, when did you have a positive opk? Were there any others signs of ovulation? I often have wet cervical fluid, so that is not a good sign for me. I'm taking my bbt, so hopefully if I do ovulate, my temperature will rise. (I haven't ever ovulated since charting, so I don't even know how my temperature will be affected.)

Any comments about clomid would be greatly appreciated. This is my first try at fertility medicine, and I have a lot to learn. Also, for those of you who didn't conceive on clomid, what meds did you try next?

For me, I Od really late on Clomid. Of the 2 times, once I think was like CD30 or something and then the time I got pg it was CD37 I think. So I've actually never seen a +OPK b/c I had long thought the cycle was a bust and stopped using them. But I know me Oing so late isn't typical, but just thought I'd throw it out there to know that PCOSers don't always go according to the typical scheduled days of a clomid cycle.

Oh, and I knew I O'd because I get a sharp pain in my lower side.

I only O'ed once with clomid which led me to the BFP as well. I didn't use OPK, but was closely monitored by my DR with u/s every 4-5 days to measure the follicle growth. I believe I O'ed around CD17. And during that cycle I was totally dry - no CM at all! So I was quite skeptical but nevertheless got a BFP! Others told me that Clomid can dry you up... so don't worry too much about dry CM.

Congrats on the pregnancy, and thank you for the encouragement about CM. I have also heard that Clomid can dry up CM, so it is encouraging to hear that you got pregnant without every seeing fertile CM.

I'm not going in for ultrasounds or anything, but I am taking my bbt and doing opk, so I should know if I ovulate.

If I don't ovulate by CD 30, my doctor will want me to take Provera to restart my cycle. Then she will up my Clomid dosage to 100 mg next month. I've read a lot of women on here who don't ovulate on 50mg, but who do ovulate on higher doses. Anybody O on 50 mg?

I O'd on 50mg in 2005 when DS was conceived. But now ttc #2, I'm up to 150mg and no O. I am supposed to start 200mg next cycle, and have just started metformin. Anyone else been up to 200mg? and O'd?

My 150mg was to be the last try on Clomid. If I didn't O with 150mg, they'd move me to injectibles (where I'd have to inject myself every morning)... I'm not scared of needles, but the idea of having to do it myself freaked me out. Luckily I O'ed!

I never had to try Met.

congratulations on your pregnancy, Fan. I hope it's going well. My RE discussed injectables with me, but we decided to keep with the clomid for now as it is so much cheaper and I have to drive an hour and a half to the clinic for monitoring.

I Od around day 19 or 20 with Clomid--and conceived. Had no other symptoms. M/C about a month ago--hoping to O on my own this month and try again, but that's doubtful.

I'm on CD 18 with no positive opk or temperature rise. I did have what I thought was ovulation pain (dull back pain in my left side) on CD 16, so I thought that was a good sign, but I'm still waiting. If I don't ovulate by CD 30, I will have to start taking progesterone to start my next cycle.

I had no O on the last 2 cycles. I had completely given up on this cycle by CD22, and started the first day of progesterone, but then got a LH surge on my fertility monitor (the clearblue variety, that tests urine) yesterday on CD 25. Not sure if its a false + from taking progesterone (can that cause false +?) or if I'm just going to ovulate really late. I stopped the progesterone though, after just one day.

So, I called my doctor on Friday to ask when I should give up this round and start taking provera. One of the PAs calls me back and says we need to do a day 21 progesterone lab to see if I have ovulated. I told her I had been charting and doing opks with no signs of ovulation, but she insisted that they needed the lab as proof for the chart so we can up the dose to 100 mg next cycle. She also said they wouldn't start me on provera until day 35 if I haven't had a positive pregnancy test or started bleeding. So, I was suppose to get my labs done yesterday, which was a saturday. Because of insurance issues with Labcorp and since Quest isn't open on Saturday, the PA said she would send my orders down to the hospital's outpatient lab. I drove out to the hospital yesterday morning with my 2 year old son, started the registration process and they said they didn't have any orders for me! How frustrating... and of course my doctor's office is closed on Saturday. I'll just have to call the office tomorrow morning to see what I should do.

On a positive note, I have been feeling twinges in my side lately. Could that be a sign of impending ovulation?

I tried clomid x1 round. the opk never said i ovulated and lab tests revealed that it did not make me ovulate. my dr said the opk's are not always accurate in people with pcos so it is important to have sex every other day during the week that you would expect it to happen! i just finished my 1st round of fumara with metformin- still no ovulation...but the opk said that i did! i don't know what my dr will do next with the meds but i expect she will increase my dose of fumara and metformin.

I got a +opk this morning! Yesterday and today, I have had cramps and deep pain in my pelvic area. I was worried about hyperstimulation, but maybe its just ovulation!

My 1st cycle I took clomid 50mg 1-5 and I ovulated on CD13, I felt a little discomfort in my ovaries, and after ovulation I got bloated & my breast were very sore. My 2nd cycle I took clomid 50mg 3-7 and no ovulation at all.
