I know this question has come up before, but I could really use some advice, or thoughts...
I am on CD2, and am trying to decide if I should go ahead and start my clomid on day 5 like last month, or try day 3.
On my last dr visit, I asked him about the difference, I thought he mentioned that 3-7 may make me ovulate sooner, but that 5-9 has been the standard for a long time. He didn't seem to be insistent that I stick with the 5-9 though.
I think I ovulated last time, but not until maybe around CD17 maybe?
So do any of you have any thoughts here? Pros or cons of starting on day 3 instead of 5?
One other thing, this month I will be taking the 100mg, last month was only 50mg.
I started my second round today 5-9 I have regular cycles (28-30 days average) and my first round did not seem to change that (31 days) I may have o'd around the time I was supposed to. I say might have because my progesterone numbers were lower than my doctor would like but they did double from the month before. I am on 100mg this month.

Days 5-9 was no good for me. My cycles were long, I didn't always O, and when I did, it was a poor quality egg because it was so late in my cycle. CD 3-7 has worked well for me in developing ripe eggs and I trigger to release them. I have a standard 28-day cycle because of it. But you could always just do CD 4-8, therefore taking the middle of the road on it.

I say 3-9 thats what I'm doing this month. 5-9 did make O but not godd enough to get my pg.Good Luck.

I always heard that the sooner you take Clomid the sooner you will O and you could possibly have more follies possibly ovulating more than 1 egg by taking it early too.
CD5-9 is suppose to be more mature follies.
I just saw a new doc that mentioned cd 3 or 4 and then said it doesnt matter. Maybe he told me that since Im going to trigger not sure.

My doc always says cd3. I did it on day 5, and she wasn't happy with me. What can you do?

August- day 21 progesterone 13.5, started Crinone supplementation
September- day 21 progesterone 10,
October- day 21 progesterone 27!
November 5th- BFP 12 DPO, MC November 18 at 5 1/2 weeks.
My doc is having me take it 5-9. I've read many places you make less follies, but better quality this way. **shrug**

I did 2 cycles of CD 2-6 and O'd but no BFP.
I changed it to CD 5-9 on my 3rd cycle and actually O'd a day or so sooner then the first 2 cycles and got my BFP!
It can only help to try it on different days. See what your magic number is.
