Smile Clomid Alone or Clomid with Met?

I was just curious if anyone has taken Clomid alone and not ovulated and then taken Clomid with Met and ovulated. I was on Clomid 50-150mg for 5 cycles and only ovulated on the 150mg. So I was just curious if anyone has had Metformin help to induce ovulation. Also, what dosages did you take?

I took met. for 4-5 months first before starting clomid. The met. helped me gain a cycle (not sure if I always ovulated) but they were 39 days long. I took 2 rounds of 50mg clomid while on my 1500mg of Met. I got my bfp last Monday

Default Ovulated with metformin

I went through fertility treatments: medicine alone, then IUI then finally IVF. On clomid alone, I never ovulated even with 150. I was so scared that I would never get pregnant. When Metformin was added (500 mg 2x a day) I finally ovulated. I ended up doing 3 unsuccessful IUS, but got pregnant on my first round of IVF using metformin. I now have beautiful 5 month old twin boys! Don't dispair! As long as you have eggs, you can be forced to ovulate and in turn become pregnant. It turned out I had plenty of eggs, but not the right hormone combination to ovulate. The bonus for me was that I felt great once I was put on Metformin, I felt so much better about myself. When I first went off of BC to ttc, my face broke out terribly and I gained some weight. Once the fertillity dr. put me on Met, my skin cleared and my weight dropped back. It was nice to feel good about myself while going through such a stressful time. You will have your baby! (or two!)
