My Mood: Points: 2,274.00 Bank: 453.75 Total Points: 2,727.75 | Clomid or BFP? I took my first round of Clomid on cd 3-7 this month, which was the 11-15 of June. I have heard that it makes you have some side effects like being pg but Im not sure what to think.
Im on cd day 25 and so im 6 days from testing, if I have a normal cycle.(not sure if I o'd). My boobs are KILLING me and, Oh are the emotions flying. When I went in for my follicle study they didnt see any mature follies.
Is there a chance that I could be pg? Or are these symptoms coming from the Clomid? To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

The next best way to know is to see if there was a shift in your temps if you're charting. By follicle study-- did they do an ultrasound? I would've thought they could see if you had ovulated if they did that.
Sorry to answer your question with more questions. Clomid can move your O to give you a 28/30 day cycle, but it can also shift your O later. Whichever way, it's possible it could be either that you're pregnant or the clomid s/e.

Have you been charting? When did they do the follie scan?
As of current, the only thing you can do is wait it out. Test after your 2WW and/or go to the doctor for a beta.
Best wishes!!

My Mood: Points: 15,948.29 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 15,948.29 | The best way to learn about charting it to read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". This is the accompanying website: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. . I totally love it- it can tell you so much about what's happening in your body, but a lot of women with PCOS and other things can find it frustrating because if you don't ovulate regularly, then your chart can look like a long mish-mash of random zig zags. If you decide to try it, then stick with it for a least one whole cycle. Good luck!

My Mood: Points: 12,037.07 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 12,037.07 | It'd be helpful to know when the follie scan was... sometimes they do it too early and there isn't any yet, as clomid can lengthen your cycles. My first month on clomid I think I had a sono cd17 or something and nothing. Went back on cd24 and there were two big fat follicles..ovulated two days later!!
Each clomid cycle has been differnet side effects for me. The first was headaches, very sore boobs, moody, lots of pg symptoms. The second cycle only headaches, and the third cycle, just moody! I wish clomid didn't cause so many pg symptoms, but it does, so I hope after your 2ww, you get your BFP!

My Mood: Points: 159.25 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 159.25 | Thanks Franca,
The site had so much information. I guess i might stick with an ovulation kit. But sometimes women who have PCOS, the kit does not work well with them | | |

My Mood: Points: 15,948.29 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 15,948.29 | Yeah, the book is a little clearer than the website. Temping is easy and cheap. You can get a thermometer at Walgreens for under $10 and keep your own chart using Excel. Just today, I found out that I ovulated according to my temps-- my OPK was positive yesterday, and I didn't do one the day before, so I'm glad I temped, otherwise I wouldn't know what was going on and could've missed the eggie this month.

If you ovulate, then post-ovulation side effects (either pre-AF or early pg) are generally caused by the progesterone you are producing. So, in a roundabout way, you can say the Clomid "caused" the side-effects, if the Clomid caused you to ovulate. I took clomid and never experienced any side effects, but common ones are hot flashes, night sweats, moodiness, vaginal dryness and others that resemble menopause, because Clomid binds your estrogen receptors and blocks them from binding estrogen.
Unfortunately, there's no way to know if the moodiness, sore boobs, fatigue, etc are pointing to a pg or not---progesterone can cause these s/e in everyone, pg or not. So, like the rest of us impatient women, you have to wait until approx 2 weeks post-ovulation and then do pg test. Good luck!

My Mood: Points: 15,948.29 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 15,948.29 | Yes, Supermouse, you are right! My pre-O clomis symptoms were all the ones you listed (like menopause). But what was weirdest is that I've always O'ed and yet my post-O on clomid symptoms were not like my normal post-O symptoms (even though my progesterone levels were almost identical with clomid and without). The freakiest was the moodiness, because it was like the normal me was under a dark cloud of grouchiness that wouldn't go away for anything. It really made me empathetic to those stories of people's moods being affected by taking anti-depressants and stuff. Yikes.
