I just finished my first round of Clomid (50 mg/day cd 3-7). I did so much reading up on the side effects that now I'm a little concerned that I am not having any. Don't get me wrong, that's fine, I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this. When are the side effects supposed to be the worst? While on it, after you stop, etc.
Any info you can share will be greatly appreciated. I am currently on cd 9.
Thanks - hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday!

When I used clomid, I didn't experience any side-effects the first time. It worked right away and I had twins.
The second time I used it, years later, the side-effects were definitely present. That cycle didn't work out so well though. I have heard that the more you use it the more s/e's you experience. That seemed to be the case with me.
I didn't have side effects from clomid at all and I did 3 rounds (mixed with injectibles). I am now in my third trimester of pregnancy!! Good luck to you!
I didn't really have any either. I took exactly your dose twice. Each time I would wake up and feel slightly overheated in the night but nothing excessive. That was my only symptom because usually I sleep straight through!

I didn't notice to many side effects either the first few rounds, but I had done them in the summer last year, but looking back I think I did get the hot flashes since I felt very warm, but the hot flashes to me were not definate until the fall when the temperature was cooler... Also after getting off of it I noticed that I had major mood swings while taking clomid...

I didn't have any symptoms on clomid either, and I was so thankful. I know clomid is hormones but I wasn't even moody. I kept telling my husband how luciky he was. We have been trying since Aug. 05 also, but Im now 11 weeks pg! It took 4 clomid a day, for 5 days, a repronex shot on day nine, and HCG on day 13 to make me release the eggs. Plus IUI. But on the second month of that I got pg. Don't give up! If you have been trying for that long and your dr just now put you on clomid you may want to put the pressure on or find a new dr. My dr wanted me to wait a year of no meds of testing before I saw her. I pushed it up to 9 months and I'm glad I did. The next month we found out I had pcos. Then 3 months of just clomid, no luck, then what I described above which she called hybrid protocol. Just 2 injections and clomid. Tadaaaa! I'm glad she had me do it, instead of injections which I wanted. It's about half the cost of them.
Okay, now I have a new question - I've always heard that ovulation should occur 5-9 days after stopping the Clomid. Is it common for it to be later than that, or did I probably not O? I took my last pill 11 days ago and nothing showing up yet on my OPK's (I haven't taken today's yet).
I am just so convinced that it should work since I was able to get pg w/ Met alone (only stuck for 6 weeks and a day).

Are you temping also? I took my last pill on day 8 and O'd on day 12! Is your dr monitoring you with u/s's?

No, I've never done the temping - I tried for a week or so, but I have a puppy that wants me to get up NOW!!! I never remembered to do it until it was too late. My dr wasn't monitoring me either.
I did get a positive on my OPK's finally. I think I O'd around the 5th. That would have been 12 days after finishing the Clomid which isn't too out of the question I guess. Cross your fingers for me - I'll know in a couple weeks hopefully.
