I am starting my 1st round of Clomid on CD3 I have heard it all depends on the length of your cycle & how many rounds you have been on it. I mostly hear women starting on CD3
I've done both, and my cycle was the same, and I ovulated about the same time. The earlier days is suppose to give you more follicles to produce an egg. The later days gives you less follicles, but they are supposedly stronger.
Here's an answer that I found: In theory, days 3-7 of Clomid lead to more follicles and fewer side effects on the lining and the mucus. Days 5-9 lead to better development of just a few follicles. It seems to make a difference for some women and does not make any difference in others. Little conclusive research on the issue exists.
My friends have done both and have had babies. The latest one took clomid on days 5-9, and she ovulated around day 14 and has a healthy newborn now.
Both ways, I ovulated around days 19-21, and it worked for ovulation. I just haven't gotten pregnant. I'm really thinking that I had the side effect of not having enough fluid, and my body was hostile. My dh's sa is great.
Ok, I asked my Dr and she just said it's personal preference by the Dr prescribing it but she believes the earlier the better.
Now, I have always taken it days 5-9 and o'd between 18-21. Got pregnant every time. These last 2 cycles, I took it 3-7 (recommended by this new Dr), and my second cycle on 100mg I still o'd late, cycle days 23-24 and no bfp.
I think I am going back to 5-9. If the theory is accurate then I would rather have less but good follies than multiple immature follies.

the first few cycles i took it days 5-9 and noticed that i O'ed much later...so i decided to take it days 3-7 and uped the dose and got preg. I guess its just a personal preference of what to do.

I have taken mine cd's 5-9 with my old doc. I did O a few times. But now with my new doc i take it cd's 3-9. So earlier and longer.. I Oed eachtime except i think once.
I am starting clomid again after a little over a year break. 150mgs cd's 3-9 with trigger and IUI. I have done this once time before over a year ago. So hears hoping this works or i move onto clomid/gonalf/trigger and IUI next cycle.

I have done cd 3-7 and also cd 5-9. CD 5-9 I never seemed to ovulate (that was in the beginning I took it-I never got preggy on that time frame either).
I took it cd 3-7 and have gotten preggy a few times. That is when I took it this last time and now am almost 30 wks along with princess #2.

I actually switched mine to Femara so I will no longer be taking the Clomid. A different Nurse called me today & said my Dr. will not switch me to the Femara but I told her he already said I could have whatever I wanted! Pshh, they better! LOL!

We Are On A TTC Break For At Least 6 Months!

as always lurking here and there.. So I am a newby when it coms to Clomid...
My doctor is very proactive but fails to give me directions!!!
So here is my question....AF started on 10/30, but my doctor told me to start 100mg of Clomid on CD8 (Tuesday 11/6). One more thing, last month I had a 32 day cycle with ovulation on CD19.. With that said, when should I expect ovulation?? Should I start testing 5 days after my last pill??
