I have a quick question, has anyone who has or is on clomid had a problem with the clomid making there cysts grow even larger? I am getting ready to go on clomid ttc #1 and a friend of mine said she was on clomid and it made her cyst grow and it was the size of a grapefruit when she got off the clomid and almost destroyed her ovary. has anyone else had this problem or ever heard of this please let me know thanks amy

I have heard of a few women who had problems with painful cyst growth with clomid... but it seems like most women do OK with it in that department. There is a condition that can occur with fertility drugs called ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (I think that's what it's called) but it is pretty rare with clomid. More common with injectables.

I have done clomid at 50 and 100mg and had no problems.

I am not prone to large painful cysts, though... maybe if you have had large painful cysts in the past this would be a consideration.
