Question Clomid effects on Met-induced cycles?

I have O'd on Met alone for the last three cycles, late in the cycle (around Day 22). This month, I have added Clomid, in the hope of shortening my cycles (currently around 40 days). Today is Day 12, and u/s showed nothing - thin uterine lining and no dominant follicles on either ovary. This is typical for me on my last three Met cycles, where follies only started growing around Day 15 and I O'd on +- Day 22. But, with Clomid added in, I thought there would be more to see on day 12! I am now worried that the Clomid has been ineffective but has also messed with my "normal" Met cycls and so I'm not going to O at all this month! I hope not! My Doc seemed to think that what was on u/s today is likely to indicate Clomiphene resistance, but that I may still O late in the cycle.

Anyone have experience of this kind of thing?
