I've had better response using Clomid, but I know a lot of cysters do better with Femara. Femara makes my cycles longer than with Clomid. Also, this last cycle I took Femara 5mg and did not ovulate at all, which has never happened with Clomid (even low doses). I've gotten pg. twice with Clomid (once twins, once a m/c) and never with Femara. There might be other factors there, but that's just the way I look at it. Hope this helps!

Hey! I took Femara 5mg for my first cycle (which I'm currently still on). I only had a 13mm follicle on cd 14, so I'm thinking this cycle is a bust. Although, I did have ovulation pains a couple days ago, so maybe I just ovulated really late??? Who knows! lol! My doc wants me to start Clomid 50mg in a couple weeks after my cycle starts cd 5-9. This will be my first time on Clomid. Hoping for good news to come! Good Luck!!

Oct 08- Possible ovulation pain
Oct 08- On prometrium then starting Clomid cd 5-9
cocoanut bean -- I ALWAYS Od late on Femara -- like around CD19-21, and I would say a 13mm follie on cd14 is a great sign -- probably Od late.
I never tried clomid, as my first doc said Femara works better for PCOS, plus I had a thin lining to begin with and clomid only hurts that. But Femara made me O 3 times and I had zero side effects (though didn't get pg, but that may have been BD timing).

Hey there Tummy! Yea, hopefully I ovulated late, but I almost feel like it was way late...like cd 28-29ish. I did bd during that time so I'm just hoping that maybe the egg is still viable and it all works out. I had no side effects either on the Femara. I was waiting for it and the side effects never happened! My RE thinks I'll respond better to clomid but doesn't want to keep me on it long because of the thin lining issue. If clomid doesn't work by itself, she wants to add a low dose gonal-f injection w/the clomid. I just hope that the Femara worked this time! So maybe I'm in a tww??? Who knows! lol!
